Lich Dragon & Shark Prince Concepts

I just sorta picked up a little 3d Modeling and have been toying with some toy ideas! I came up with one that I really like and I was hoping to get some second opinions. It probably looks really scary to most people, but keep in mind that the spines are thin enough that they'd be very flexible in silicone! I wanted something texture-heavy and relatively similar in shape to toys that I personally enjoy. Here's that first design, based of a Lich dragon.

And here's the second design-- I was just playing around with sculpts and I started making a shape that reminded me of Prince Sidon from BoTW(never played the game but I know there's a lot of love for that guy!) so I just sorta went with it.

I also really love the Lich, and more aggressive designs in general. I bet some of the skilled silicone crafters out there could probably do something like a 00-50 shaft with 00-20 spines. Make it very lovable / forgiving.

 

That would be awesome. I think even 00-30 spines would work pretty well, since they're pretty thin. I'd be willing to try it with spines in 00-50, but I'm sure it wouldn't sell much if it was picked up by a toy company and only offered in a solid firmness.

 

I'd say the spines on the lich would have to be angled slightly more up or maybe shrunk a little, they look like air bubble hell hehe.

I've found that when I pour silicone in a glovemold that has skinny little protrusions like that, I can pinch them whole pouring, so then when I let go it'll suck the silicone in hmm! So I think it could be doable how it is, but it'd be rather tricky to make sure each of the lil feelers fills in correctly with no air bubbles

 

Thank you! I would never have thought about that, it's great to get feedback from someone who's made toys so I know this sort of thing. Do you think the bumps on the underside of the upper shaft would be alright in terms of air bubbles, or should I adjust those as well?

 

I feel like those bumps look like they'd be fine, hmm!
