Larger or smaller? (EE Raptor)

I'm shopping for an EE Raptor at the moment. The question for me is, which one should I get? My maximum girth atm is around 2.5" diameter in a medium firm toy, but the medium raptor's knot goes up to 3. I messaged them and they can do a split where everything is in medium except the knot is in soft, but I'm still not sure I'd be able to take it.
And on the other hand, the small is a little small for my tastes. With the shape of the toy, I'm not sure a small would do anything for me. Any thoughts?
