The earth in steven universe was confirmed by the Crewniverse as being our earth but in an alternate timeline. Kinda like infinite universe theory.

I'll admit the phrase "Assigned to you" does make it sound like Jasper was beneath our little green dorito, but if you rewatch The Return, you'll see its Jasper the one giving all the orders and after Steven blocked the laser ship fire Peridot exclaims "Now can you see why I needed an escort!" Peridot's "Manager" probably got tired of hearing her complaining about things not getting done on earth and just asked for the nearest Vegeta- I mean- fighting gem, to come handle it.

You're right about the gems not needing to breath, but the Crewniverse is so great at what they do, they remembered that sound (including Gem speech) can not travel in the vacuum of space, hence why the moonbase had air.

The orb might be a homeworld warp, but I kind of doubt that.

Stopped watching because it went on a hiatus and then life happened.
Loving all the art though and that photo Bryn posted a few pages back of Opal is just gorgeous ! ♥

A quick theory about the gems reactions to Garnet in the flashback story.
It COULD also be a reaction of fear, because the higher gems have always seen themselves as superior, and it's beeb shown they're physically larger too so maybe seeing

Argh that wasn't meant to post !!! Hahaha it was something I was typing then changed my mind .
BUT I might as well finish ot now.

Maybe fusion has always been a known thing between the higher powers but they kept it stigmatized as something abheront because they were afraid of losing power to beings that normally don't hold as much power as they do.

Now I just have to wait until they get garnet in then I'll be super happy. They comic book store owner said they sold out of garnet as soon as she came in stock. Just proves garnet is a badass to everyone.

 

Eugh, I really dislike those Funko Pop things. I mean, Garnet makes sense for it, so that might be part of why she sold out. Her head's already square.

I've been so obsessed with fan theories as of late into the show.
Didn't realize there was sooo much more than I first picked up on ! And some of them are rather interesting speculations.
Also watched a few 'fact videos' on YouTube and I find it incredibly creative and sweet that Rebecca based a lot of the layout and story on her childhood and places her family would visit.
Also never realized each gem has their own 'instrument' when they're on screen. ! That's rather cool !

 

Also @Misskin if you don't mind me asking, im beginning to get into comics/ graphic novels in a big way and I was curious where you got yours from, or at the very least what to type in so I can search for it/ request an order in at my local comic book store.

I looked up 'SU comics' but there was tonnes of issues and I would like to get them compiled into one but I don't know what to look for haha.

I bought the issue 1-6 bundle (as of now I think theres only 7 or 8 out now) from Boom-Studios. Its not one giant book though, just the separate issues tucked into the same pack. They don't seem to have any available as of right now though D: you might have to do some digging to find out when they'll be in stock again or possibly find them elsewhere

Omfg (okay sorry if im behind the party I didn't see it mentioned in any of the theories I watched) but in the episode 'Keep Beach city weird' he literally spells out what the diamond authority are going to do !
'They're going to hollow out the earth'.
How did I not see that before ?!

Just noticed Steven has a mug that says "World's Greatest Stephen". Wonder if that was accidental or intentional.
