I'm surprised there aren't mandatory swimming lessons here in Florida.

Its not like we're surrounded on three sides by water or anything. Or that we're at or below sea level in some places.

Whaaaat? Florida is like the Holland of the US, water-wise. And you guys have hurricanes and flooding and all that shit, too.

In natural water, mostly, but in pools as well. The number for this summer is already pretty high, and it's only early august. I have no clue what's up with that. Lots of them are kids, really tragic, but puzzling too.

Oh man that's really sad. :/ Sorry to hear that. It's like the whole ordeal with people leaving their kids in hot cars here--or pets. Can be prevented if extra steps are taking to make sure it doesn't happen.

I also hate to ask, but how are you guys still doing with the whole ordeal with flight MH17? Man ever since that whole ordeal, my fear of flying went from... Eeeeh to just like. "Lel nah I don't wanna fly." Flying itself doesn't scare me, it's the freak accident that could or couldn't happen that kills me. That and I am still feeling horrible for all those poor souls lost on that flight.

I didn't even know so many people drowned this year. I thought everyone got swimming lessons at school? Aside from religious idiots who refuse to let someone teach their children how to survive in water.

It's been said before but I'll say it again. You're statistically more likely to die in a car than you are flying. So while a fear that a freak accident can occur is rational, that fear pertains to every moment of your life.

Yeah, you figure when most of the city is a flood zone (Not as bad as New Orleans) there'd be a mandatory swimming program. Most after schools offer them, and lessons at any community pool don't cost a lot.

Speaking of statistics, you're also more likely to die crossing the street than skydiving. And people tell me the sport is for crazy people!

Yeah. :< That's the shitty part, though. If the fear inhabited the daily lives of people like that, it would be so unbearable to even go outside. It seems to me that it's such an irrational fear but.. Ugh. I dunno :T

Why walk when you can fly or teleport B)

Me, I just didn't know what the fuck it was I saw on the headlines. Unbelievable. I can't even grasp that 300 people's circles, thousands of people at once, are all mourning loved ones who died because jackasses with heavy war equipment decided to shoot some civilians.

I'm going to fly this year, but I'm pretty relaxed about it. We're not flying over Eastern Europe. Any pilot with half a brain knows to avoid that airspace like the plague, anyway.

I know. It's terrible! I can't believe a global tragedy has happened, and honestly the whole ordeal has me feeling really sketchy. Also the sanctions the EU has placed for Russia makes me wonder how you guys are going to be doing in the next couple of months economy wise. I hope everything goes well in Europe because of this avoidable tragedy. :<

    Good morning.
Today is a going to work day, the only time I will be able to be online is now until 1:30 and in spurts at work until dinner time.
This thread is very serious today. I have to go back a couple pages to figure this out.

Sorry to hear that. Where I am, it's 11:45pm, I'm on vacation, and I'm drunk. So it's fun time.

    Oh, and good morning.

    Morning Royoko.

Serious, yes. We need something to lighten the mood...

How long should one wait before grave robbing is considered archaeology?

I would think it's grave robbing if it's a cemetery and archaeology if its out in the wilderness somewhere
