Grass is cut, hedges trimmed, new mulch laid, car is washed and fluids changed (battery is still dead though), gutters cleaned and painted, and the cat has been fed.

    So... what now?

Go down to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint of beer and wait for all this to blow over.

Housemate came back from a 4 week vacation and doesn't seem uber certain about wanting to resume our tenancy contract. Upside is there's two months notice he has to give, downside is I hope I can convince landlord to let me bring someone in again. I wanna stay cause it's really hard finding decent priced property round here.

Have a beer. That's way too much productivity for one man.

On the other hand, I built another wall of my shed, and have started framing the door. And cooked crepes for breakfast.

So...I just realized something. My textbook order was wrong, and I'm getting around to finally returning it...and I'm suddenly realizing that the company who sent me the book is a company called BookRenter, NOT Firehouse Liquidations (who I bought the book from)....so I order off Amazon a book from Firehouse Liquidations and get a product from BookRenter, and I have NO fucking clue who to talk to to return this book. It's been a while since an order has been this convoluted and stupid.

AND THEN I GASH MY HAND ON THE PACKAGING TAPE TEETH. GAH. Today is just going south fast...

Watching 12 Angry Men for the first time ever. It's bringing back the frustrations of jury duty!

You know what else will bring back the frustrations of jury duty? An actual journal of the entire jury duty experience. The funny thing is, ever since I wrote that, it has been re-blogged and reposted and even published professionally, mostly by prosecutors. Nobody ever writes up jury duty that way. They had no idea what jurors think about, or how they deliberate. The number of "thank you" notes I've received from public prosecutors and attorneys has to have passed a hundred by now.

I could keep going, but I don't know what else to do. And a huge thunderstorm is on it's way.

@Shardik Haha, you're right that reading that will bring back frustrations even worse! (I skimmed through it, though.) It's cool that you were able to remember enough of the experience (ordeal? :p) to write up something that ended up being educational for others.

My case was a three week trial, but only three days of deliberation. Thankfully, most of the jurors were respectful of what we were doing (unlike some of these guys in this movie!). We did end up sending two politicians to jail (that's as much detail as I'm going to get into). Like you, I hope we made the right decision.

I was a juror, last year or early this year, I forget. Was a one day trial. Rape case. In the end not one of us was convinced a rape took place, though it was clear that sex did take place. If he didn't do it, then I wish she had gotten a punishment equal to what he would have gotten.

Not that I want to start an argument, but I believe false accusers should a sentence equal to that of the crime they're accusing someone of. Baring murder of course.

played with some shuriken because why not? throwing pointy metal things into boards is fun!

also, I just don't "come out" to people anymore, too much annoyance of "oh, you're bi? so like, do you have a crush on me?" no, I have something called standards :p or the usual "*insert gay joke* oh shit, sorry dude, that's like offensive right? I don't have problems with you or other gay people, so... *continue awkwardness*" just too much trouble with everyone changing how they act around me. usually most people I know are dumbstruck when they find out I'm not straight because I don't act like a stereotype
