Going on a diet/exercise plan on Oct. 1, so I've started easing into the diet recently. Holy crap do I feel great already... Really hoping I can stick with this and improve my looks/overall health substantially by the new year.

 

Back from the hospital :S

Were they able to find out anything useful at the hospital?

 

Sadly no, but I wasn't really expecting them to. I just wanted relief from the immense pain.

I'm fairly certain it's something with my intestines...I will randomly have inflammation pain, distended stomach and trouble going to the bathroom, as well as nausea. The problem is that I've been tested for almost every possible thing...and everything just comes back normal. It's very frustrating.

 

Perhaps monitor what you eat right before this happens? That happened to me when I was younger turned out that I'm very lactose intolerant. I can have pizza though oddly enough, but milk can and sometimes will make me vomit. Otherwise I get all bloated and my stomach hurts like a SOB.

I am lactose intolerant. Recently I've stopped eating gluten as well to see if that may be the cause of it. (Because I've been having joint pain and artritis can be a sign of Celiac's)

Vitani, have you been tested for Crohn's? I have a friend who got diagnosed and what you describe sounds similar. Chocolate wrecks him, maybe try cutting that for a bit?

 

That one, I'm actually not sure of.
And I -am- guilty of eating chocolate, so I'll try cutting that out as well and mention this to my doctor!

I'm sorry to hear you've been having those issues, Vitani! Not fun! I work at a health food store and when I read your first post my suggestion was going to be to get off of gluten (and no cheating either - it can stay in your system for a long time even if you just have a nibble). But yes, you're exactly right. Joint pain, soft tissue pain, inflammation, stomach ulcers, IBS, etc, can all be symptoms of gluten intolerance or Celiac's disease. It's super unfortunate because gluten is in so many things today, but since it is becoming more well known there are more options. I really hope it might help! I would also suggest getting on a good probiotic if you are not already. Good luck!
