Except you can't call them that. they are "Fantasy Marital Aides" rofl!
I remember after buying my first toy, Mary, I wrote a review for it. My review was denied until I removed the word "horse" from it.

It was then that I realized that BD was taking itself a little too seriously. You made a god damn fleshlight out of Horse naughty bits. It has the word "mare" in the title, and you even made a special color set for MLP-FIM. Don't even pretend that you don't know who your target audience is BD.

Anyway, I've been feeling more at home and less on edge here than I do over there. All in all I'll be staying here even if they don't shut down their own forum. I actually feel at home with BD people again.

If you take the sword out, it's still painful and you bleed out slowly to a more excruciating death.

Even if they do "save" the forums, I'm not really going to go back. The damage has been done and there's no way to truly undo it. Besides, given Bad Dragon's history of not listening and doing the absolute wrong thing I'm pretty sure it'll just become an "out of the frying pan and into the fire" kind of situation where we all would have been better off just letting the forum shut down.

EDIT: Forum Future and Q&A threads have gone live!

I'll be staying here. I like it here! And if I get in on the ground floor maybe I can make more of a presence for myself than otherwise. :p I can be sort of shy.

Read the threads in the interest of being informed. The "Forum Future" one has a kinda... weird attitude to it, imo. All that stuff about true community members. I'm guessing that would be the people who fully support BD and don't make waves?

Yeah, and that BS about the "disruptive vocal minority" compared to the not disruptive "true community members". I'm really close to being 100% done with them because you don't just disregard people whose trust you have quite openly broken with your own decisions.

I think I'm gonna be on 2 forums from now on... This one is more advanced, has better UI IMO, looks just fresher and has a ton of cool stuff BD one doesn't. But on the other side, going back to "original" forums, feels like going to an old house where you don't live anymore... It's ruined quite much, but you still feel the warmth on your heart. It's where all began.

"We will be implementing stricter moderation, with more focus on disruptive and inflammatory behavior, as supported by 76% of respondents."

Okay, is it just me or is that statement fairly open to interpretation. What is categorized as "inflammatory and Disruptive" behavior and how much catering is going to be done to the soft skinned minority, on top of that, I've already dealt with their mods, and I don't trust them. they ban first and ask questions 2 months after you've submitted a ticket to resolve. It's not good business.

I leave this for your viewing pleasure and to give you a benchmark for what we're probably looking at in the future.

That's not a potentially inflammatory comment, that's letting BD know what the stakes are here. That their decisions will make or break many relationships with the company. That's not inflammatory, that's the truth of the matter here that they need to know.

It's this snide, domineering crap from BD that makes me stay here and not go back. As if they were gracing us with their presence rather than us being the ones who their money comes from. Judging from that screencap, "inflammatory" is gonna be whatever they damn well please - a reason to shut down things they don't like.

Welp, that pretty much validates my paranoia. Sad to see that attitude taking dominance, but that's their decision.
And it's our decision to not deal with it.

One one hand, I understand their stance. They have a business to run, after all, and for all that their business is what it is, there needs to be at least a veneer of respectability in any public company that hopes to be profitable. As the company grows, its priorities are naturally bound to shift given time, and if reducing company resources spent on the forum translates into profits somehow, they're going to go that route.

On the other hand, the forums embody a whole other side of BD: the community, the fans, the enthusiasts. The way that this happened is incredibly off-putting. BDC starting up is a net positive, though. Ultimately this community here has more potential than the same community would have had there, even in the best of times. To be able to start a forum from scratch with an active, established user base is an amazing gift! Like seriously, have you ever tried to start a forum for anything? XD

I don't know what my point is, I'm just rambling. It's really shitty how things went down, and the fallout will be interesting to watch. I hope that people stay here, though, whatever BD decides. I haven't read the thread/s yet, but what you guys posted here is not giving me great optimism re: the fate of the original forum.

everything they've done to this point has just left a really bad taste in my mouth. I think if people stay active over here, I'd be very happy to use this as the main forum. (plus all the features are rad, love the like button and the alerts and everything.)

I bet the phrases "lost the trust of many loyal customers" and "downfall of the company" were the so called inflammatory comments. Yea those are honest observations at best :x

No no, i misread it too. They're speaking to the person stating that the answers to our questions will decide whether they do further BD business. I made the mistake of thinking it was directed at the question i asked.

But just sayin, that person saying that is totally right, depending on how they answer i may never buy from BD again.
