It's not so much protest as much as just using derogatory words in everyday language. It usually comes out during little fits of anger during work hours when something doesn't go right.

 

You're right there's not a lot of work. Not good work, that's for damn sure. What would you want to go to school for??

I'm honestly not sure! I'm flip-flopping between taking a science or a trade. I really am torn! I do have a friend that went to school in Toronto and he said it was great there.

In the same boat here… My fellow drywallers as well as the rest of the people I work with (Plumbers, electricians, ect.) tend to throw out a whole ton of gay slurs, and really aren't the most accepting crowd in general. I really have no idea how my co-workers would handle knowing I'm gay, but something tells me not very well.

 

I hear a lot of that on the construction sites as well, doesn't stop me from sneaking a good look though. But it's definitely not something you want to flaunt around.

I do get to see some mighty fine cracks though! LOL
