It was a nervous breakdown, now that I know what it was I feel calmer. I just hope I get my normal speech back.

I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed lately...
I feel like a loser because I've been living off of my artwork for the past 5 years, but lately commissions have been slowing down so I was forced to take another job.
It's only part time, but already it has zapped away pretty much 90% of my motivation and desire to do artwork. x.X

I'm at such a loss, all I want to do is curl up and cry. I still owe some commissions, but I really don't have the energy right now to work on anything - even personal.

    I just want to die.

Aww, I'm sorry to hear that Vitani. D: Seems like that is a growing problem with a lot of artists out there. Doing art as a job and stuff really takes the creativity and joy out of art. That or if they have to find a second job because commissions slow down, they get really drained because they are no longer doing something they really enjoy. :I

Maybe the slowdown is because of the 2 recent cons that happened? Hopefully once everyone gets back in and settled with things they can start getting art again. :3c

    PARTY IN FLORIDA?

If I lived a few States away. :c It's getting too cold up here for my liking. I mean I love the 4 seasons, but my chubby butt cannot handle the cold for anything. /shivers away into nothing

Wait, I live in Florida. I can go to a party?! And yeah, first winter we spent up in Connecticut we were renting a old beach house that had little to no insulation and this tiny fucking heater for the whole house, had to wear at least two pairs of sweatpants and three sweatshirts every day. ._.

Can still play League after a week and on 3 hours of sleep, that's good to know.

I need alcohol. Going from the comfort of my friends presence (what I tend to refer to as home, as opposed to a specific location) back to here is going a lot rougher then I expected.

Party in Florida sounds good, until the hurricanes come. Perfect or lawn darts though.

I do not like the cold at all.

I'd actually be up for this.

Today was such a weird day. I've had the same wardrobe for 20 years. It's stuff I've had since college, a gazillion t-shirts (most of them Furry, the oldest one dating back to 1995; only my Queer Nation t-shirt is older, from 1993), and a few pairs of slacks and shirts bought in a panic when I tore or ruined one of their predecessors.

So... I hired a personal shopper. Today we had a fitting/color session, where I tried on an imperial assload of clothes, took pictures and measurements. Next week she comes back with a trunk full of... stuff. Clothes. A wardrobe to last me a decade, supposedly.

It's so weird to think that I'm going to be dressing like a grownup soon.

I also cooked a shredded chicken stew with a thickened gravy, and ate them over fresh, unsweetened waffles. That was amazing.

I also talked to a recruiter. We discussed burnout and opportunities, and she basically said that I should in no way consider leaving my current job. As much as she'd love to take me on, there is nothing in the market that is paying as well as my current job. (I write control software for surveillance systems; there's so much money sloshing around this industry it's not even funny, but I feel guilty as hell about it.)

    @Shardik
Yep, about the same way here, though I have few t-shirts that have lasted that long. I'm pretty hard on clothes.
I doubt I if I have more than four days worth of formal attire that still fit, much less be in any sort of acceptable style these days. It's sad really. I can make three large loads in the washer with all the work t-shirts I use.
