Favicon for the site -Vote!-

Hi folks! So we've been talking a little while about options for favicons, the little image that sits on the tab, which are currently blank for this forum. For me, on Chrome, that's a little blank piece of paper with the right corner folded over. They also appear with your bookmarks if the site has them.

It's not all that difficult to turn an image into an icon, though the main issue is that the icon loses a lot of resolution when you shrink it down, but there are several ways to make a small icon retain some detail. All of these would be cleaned up before being implemented, @MurphyAlter was able to shrink it down, make it transparent, and keep some detail. (Serious skills!)

So I'm compiling the options that were submitted by the other users in the original thread, and you guys can vote on what you think would be best! If you have a suggestion, tell us here, or in ->the original thread<-

Would you mind including the final version I presented? Honestly, I think we should have final versions for all of these available to be voted on, but not all of these actually have final edits.

 

On it! I just wanted to include the big versions so people could see everything.

 

I see. Though the detail isn't super important since it's going to be shrunk down. XD

I decided to be useful werewolf here, and quickly resized the images to fit 32x32px size favicons are. (I *THINK* it's the correct size, or was it 16x16?... In any case, the 32x32 versions are small enough to give an insight how the icons would look. I've painted the background white on all of them though, since I ddin't had the patience to photoshop them onto actual browser bars lol. I can resize them again if you want the correct-sized version, it's only a 2-3 minutes of work

I didn't attach Murhpy's one, because he did it himself. Also note, I did it for preview only - I just wanted to give a quick insight, so I saved the shrunk versions as .jpgs for preview.

 

we can have transparencies, too :3 so we dont have the stark white background.

 

I know :3 But as said, I've painted it white for better visibility. And the size was 16x16 anyway, welp. I'll edit in a second!

 

It's really hard to choose, well done guys!

Transparencies work better! I did mine as a transparent before ^^ They look good though Vahaala!

So how long did you set the vote to run for, or when are we going to close it?

 

I didn't set a time limit, I just figured I'd give it about a week. When people stop voting I guess we'll see what happens. Nobody has spoken to the Admin as far I know so this might be pointless to discuss at all
