@Boargoth its a natural thing in society to do though. If a woman is being ganged up on by a man surrounding females will come into defend her and vice versa. What I was trying to say is that such things shouldn't effect and out come. It did come out sexiest but it's not what I initial meant.

 

I'm saying I was moving from the right lane into the left one. They ticketed me for Turing left from the right lane.

 

I can't even believe it.. You just did it again.. And FYI, you were fishing for a feminist snarky comment. YOU asked if the cop and other driver were male.. Nobody was being attacked, nobody was saying it was an unfair ticket because Jazzi identifies as female.

And it probably didn't effect the outcome.. At the moment a cop pulls you over, for whatever reason they did. It is your word against theirs, you'll have to do your very best to explain your intentions and/or why you weren't going to do what they were thinking you were. You fail to do that, the ticket is yours. It's as simple as that..

@Jazzi the Pegasus Can't you file a complaint against your ticket? I know here in Holland you can get a lot of shit waived if you "just ask nicely" in a complaint letter. (my old boss got his licence-unrevoked at least 4 times in half a year by writing up some sad story about how he needs his car for his business and private-life)

 

Here in America, you have to go to court and argue with the cop that issued the ticket. It's great, because if the cop doesn't bother to show up, you're out automatically, but it's awful because if they do show up, it's your word against the cop's unless there was some documentation of what happened. And if you lose, I'm pretty sure you have to pay court fees.

 

Seriously? DAAAMN, that's not worth it at all. You'd probably have to be facing jail-time for it to be worth the hassle...

Relax, buddy. What she described is pretty much the standard quo in the states.

 

Well the point of a ticket is that, at least here, it's on-the-spot bail. Basically, if you don't sign it and agree to pay when the cop gives it to you, they arrest you.

 

Moral of the story is, just don't get a ticket!

I don't have to go to court but we're not paying $175. So we are going to court.

If it helps the passenger in the other car was female but obviously didn't come to defend me. All three of us just wrote statements as to what happened. Then headed out.

 

Yeah I'm alright. My leg had this weird line bruise thing going on.

Lately I feel like most of the online communities I used to be really involved in (and were actually really active) have died out. I don't mean just the old BD forums or anything, but just stuff I used to be involved in in general.

 

It happens, it's the nature of the internet.

 

Being a student really sucks sometimes. Why must the pursuit of knowledge be such an uphill battle with yetis and other snow monsters?!?

I am tired of being hungry, poor, exhausted, and overworked. Living your dreams seems to involve a lot of punishment...

I intend on going for my Masters, and maybe my Ph.D. I want to be involved in research. That is another six years ahead of me... I forgot what it is like to have money.
