What Is On Your Mind?

argh, ink wash is not a fun art method for me. I've never been good with watercolors so it's no surprise I'm horrible with monochromatic shades of black and grey using ink and water. artistically I prefer doing "portable arts" which is the snob way of saying pottery, weaving, carving, and functional crafts (decorated tools and such, like wooden spoons, custom knives, leather pouches and bags, etc.)

 

Agreed, ink with it's much finer pigment is so hard control, and the fact that it can be absorbed so quickly by the paper.
Doubly so with black or indigo inks.

Should have known better than to buy a pumpkin at the dollar store to make a pie. Wish I just got a can but hey 4cups vs 2 cups of pumpkin for $1 got me. Threw a bunch of spices and yogurt at the thing, hope that covers up its awful dry blandness.

 

I ordered some white face paint yesterday. This halloween I will at least dress up as something even though I go really easy on the costume. Last time I dressed up for halloween was when I was a little kid. I'm actually really looking forward to it!

hmmm, starting to notice a bit of a "quality vs. quantity" effect with artists that have switched mainly to patreon work

and especially since some people are shelling out the same amount of money that they used to spend on full colored and shaded commissions for sloppy quick sketches too

 

I am slightly drunk and really fucking tired of playing mind games. I've been wanting to call her but fuck it, she didn't even have the decency to tell me straight up that she needed space after 8 years of fucking friendship and either she's going to be my friend or she isn't, I'm not going to play through this bullshit. Also, I get to take my friend Emma to her beach house when I'm up there next month, which will be interesting since I'm pretty sure she has feelings for me, based upon us talking every night on the phone for the past two weeks whereas with everyone else she's completely flighty.
