What Is On Your Mind?

I saw an interesting study a few months ago... apparently plants can also realize when they're being picked/eaten. They can't move or make noise, but they send out chemical fear signals. Carrots specifically do it I believe.

First of all, big companies know that every part of an animal is useful. Good meat? Food. Crap meat? Dog food. Shitty Intestines? Wash them and make sausages. Bones? Gelatin and bone meal. Brains? Asian markets. Toes and eyeballs? Redneck food and hotdogs. Any good meat processing company can and does use every single part of the animal. A local butcher, however, may not actually be able to use each and every one of these parts, and I'd not be surprised to see that they are the ones that are throwing bits away.

Well, even though most big corporations put every bit of meat to use, it doesn't always mean it in a good way. For instance, sticking all the shitty meat into dog food? Not always good for pets. For example, if you look at the ingredients for most dog foods that the average person buys, you will find that there is simply not enough nutrients in it. That, or the things that are in it can cause bad reactions in dogs. Beneful has about 1-2 stars in regards to review, and people have said it can shut down organs in dogs and other horrible things. Just because they put it to use doesn't always mean it's good. Really bad dog food is like the equivalent to McDonald's for humans. Some may argue that animals don't really need or deserve the same nutrient value, but they do! Animals can get very sick from just eating animal by-product and fats. :'D In regards to putting other unwanted things in food, I just don't really agree with it. Eating brains and hooves and eyeballs isn't really my thing, and I would rather that get disposed of as most people don't even eat it.

But yes, certain species of plants can tell when they're being eaten! Especially those that get eaten by bugs such as the caterpillar. When the plants sense they are being chewed on, they release a chemical that secretes an awful taste that the caterpillars can't stand! :3

 

Well, nobody's making you eat the hooves and eyeballs, but some people like that sort of thing. And I agree that dog food tends to use ingredients that aren't that great for the dog, but their owners don't always eat any better than that either, and they actually have a choice... not sure what that says, but if it's between that and the owner's extra McRib, the shitty dog food is probably better for both of them.

 

No piece of biological matter goes to waste. Microorganisms are essential to maintaining our world.

 

That's why I said it wasn't my sorta thing. And to be honest, I would go with neither the shitty dog food or the McRib if you had to pick one. Dog food isn't all that expensive if you're feeding one. If you have a hard time feeding more than one dog, it's probably best to remain with only a limited amount of pets. I feel like it would be if you're growing up in a house hold that your parents make you eat terrible food, even though you know what it does to your body but you don't have any other choice. I just think it's best for everyone to do a bit of research on stuff before just eating it or making their pets eat it! Because it really does suck if your pets fall ill to eating terrible food.

Hah! Good to know. Well, I did get to see HTTYD 2 which was AWESOME (but I still dislike Hiccup (and Astrid (not sure why?)))

Like I ONLY like Toothless, everyone else is just meh to me, but I have burning hatred for Hiccup that I can't explain and a general dislike of the way the movies were done. I mean the movie concept is great "We feared and killed them, but turns out they were swell guys after all" But whoever put it together did an awful job imo.

Like this movie is ANIMATED, but how is Hiccup still such a bad actor. To me it sounds like hes reading off paper the whole time XD

 

Just got finished watching a film from my school days, and now all I want to do is speak french. XD
