What Is On Your Mind?

Same here, I don't understand the thought behind a laptop meant to be used with constant internet access.

 

Mine doen't need it really. If I want to put my drawings up though kinda need internets haha

 

I have one. It's pretty awesome and super small and portable and pretty darn fast cause it's so simple. They feel closer to a tablet with keys. Great for students cause there's always internet on my campus, and when there isn't I tether or hotspot to my phone anyways.
The only problem is that you don't have programs at all, so stuff like games and sometimes coding and other specialized applications for school and stuff you'll have to use on an actual laptop. For putting your drawings up for instance, you can load finished photos on an sd card and upload them but you won't be able to actully draw per say...

 

You don't actually have to have the Internet on just to start it up do you? Also why do they need constant access?

 

Only on the first time when it retrieves your google account, but otherwise no. They don't need constant access, but it's just that most of the functionality is made for internet browsing. It's not like if you lose connectivity your 'book is gonna like freeze and die.

It's not completely a brick once you lose internet, but yeh, probably a regular laptop would be able to keep you more entertained with it's programs.
Don't let that scare you away though. I think the internet browsing is pretty darn fast and good, especially for the price point. I'm super happy with mine, and I already have a laptop as well.
