got destroyed in dark souls 2 for a while so I jumped over to TF2. joined a stacked game hosted by the biggest cheating dick bag in the world and promptly started to ruin their day. I taunt a kill on someone and they send a message along the lines of "I have 30 points, you have 10! ha!" actual score at the time them: 26 me: 14. I then proceed to dominate them and two other people on their team. as soon as I get within 1 point of matching his score he ragequits and starts sending hatemail making threats and shit and claiming he hacked everyone's VPN and a bunch of other junk, real or not there's now threatening messages, an admission of guilt in potential system and network tampering and generally just being a douche. you sir are going to get banned. lol

after that I hosted my own game and proceeded to fuck around as a pyro only using the fire axe for all three rounds and somehow managed to MVP at 30 points above the next highest score. I love TF2

Sorry :( To each their own, I guess.

Not trying to defend my opinion as the "right" one, but perhaps elaborating on what I like will help other people decide if it's worth a try or if I'm off my rocker:

I love the character interaction: it's everything I enjoyed from DA:Origins, Mass Effect, and the Old Republic MMO, only better. The characters are 100% my favorite part of Bioware games, followed closely by the story, and I felt like Inquisition really delivered. I liked having a mix of friendly faces crop up + an all new cast of people to get to know: part of me wishes we could have seen more of our old friends, but then I think "which of the new characters would I trade if it meant I could get an old one back?" and I can't pick any! (Okay, maybe Vivienne...if I could have, I think I'd have killed her and dumped her body in the desert awhile ago and there isn't a jury in the world that would convict me.) I do think they did a better job with the romances in this game than Mass Effect did (just my imo): longer, more natural-feeling story arcs that I've really enjoyed so far. I think the game looks gorgeous, and I love the complex storyline; it has taken some twists that I really did not expect.

I personally like the war table--all the extra choices, and it made me feel like I'm actually directing an army rather than just one lone woman--but I can see how other people might find it tedious. The open world aspect...oh MAMA, it's what I always wanted in Origins and never got.

I like some of the crafting system--getting to choose my own fabrics and so forth--but that part definitely gets tedious for me. The combat isn't my cup of tea either, but I'm thinking that's more due to personal preference than a failing in the game (I didn't care for the combat in DA:Origins either; I prefer first person shooters). That said, it has gotten much more enjoyable now that I have more abilities and chose a talent tree specialization. *shrug* However, I didn't play DA2, and it's been a long time since I played Origins, so it's hard for me to compare.

    Main points of irritation:
    - Game crashes
    - Loading screens that take FOREVER
    - Having to bring a rogue on every mission in case there are locks to be picked...and a warrior in case there are walls to be bashed...and a mage in case there are barriers to be taken down... Grr, just let me bring who I want!
    - Inventory management and tedious crafting
    - The gray pajamas I'm stuck wearing in my home base for the latter part of the game
    - STILL no long hair, Bioware? SERIOUSLY?!

I can't stand that they recycled so many characters. It just made it feel like lazy development. Previously there's only ever been one character carried over from the game before and this has 2 previous playable characters and 1 previous main character.

I think it was easier to switch between characters and control them individually on the old system and the new system over complicated a previously simple system.

I hate open world. I don't play open world games. I find them tedious. If I wanted to play Skyrim, I'd buy it.

And the plot absolutely does not pick up where the previous game left off, at all. It's so far off it extra pisses me off that they have so many repeat characters.

And as far as character creation, I see how they have been more inclusive towards Trans people especially with the ability to choose either voice regardless of sex, but generally the choices were all atrocious for physical characteristics, especially in the hair department. It was like there were only 2 female hairstyles in the bunch and I've never felt lIke the choices were that limiting before. Add to that that the character looks like she's been smeared with Vaseline, and I just wasn't feeling it. I'll keep to replaying the previous two games and Diablo III.

    @DameKathryn

Ah, yeah, I can totally see why you didn't like it, then. This feels a bit like the Minecraft debates I've seen so much of: everyone had a different idea of what that game was supposed to be, so only a small fraction were truly happy with where it ended up. Bleh :p The big push these days seems to be these giant "has everything" type games, and I wonder if we'd be better off with having lots of smaller games that reflect different preferences instead of assuming everyone wants the same things.

Unfortunately, they actually don't let you choose any voice you want: you've got two female voices, two male voices, but one of the female voices is pretty deep for a woman. Would have been a nice touch if they had allowed that.

Upping the mesh quality helped immensely with the shininess, at least. Could not agree with you more on the lack of hair options, though...

Eh, there isn't really anything on Steam that I want right now and a sale isn't going to change that.

I'm wondering if I should get back into Minecraft. I spend ages watching people play it, but don't play much myself. The problem is that I spend more time trying to set it up than actually playing. And with all the frequent updates, it means that I have to keep revising my Resource Pack before I can play, which gets really tiresome.

It looks cool, but I think I'll probably stick with Star Citizen for my space exploration game.

I was actually really hopeful for SC since I saw the Kickstarter, but since it got big the community's turned to absolute shit. I'm hoping they don't get too pushy and spoil everything.

Anyone still playing Destiny? The new content was a nice refresher and has made the game fairly fun again, if still a bit of grind.

    Destiny player here.

I agree. The Dark Below brings a new and fresh experience to the game, and man is Crota's End a challenge. My fireteam and I have yet to beat it, and we've been at it off and on since Weensday.

Having to rebuild all your gear is a little annoying, but the increased light level and stats on armor, and bonus damage on weapons is worth it. It's going to make the Vault of Glass on hard a cake walk.

We had a lot of luck combining a Song of Flame with Ward of Dawn. Unfortunately, it was only two of us in the raid, so a bit impossible :D I'm working on leveling my reXurbished Ice Breaker and Armamentarium. Should be a party when those are finished.

    Praise the sun!

My fireteam has used nothing but Vision of Confluences, Icebreakers, and Ghallahorn the entire raid. Apparently the new raid sniper rifle is suppose to be amazing.

I think I'd actually really like that.... simulators that don't involve hordes or armies storming my castle are OK with me! I only ever play Stronghold on Freebuild, it's basically the exact same thing. :p

Yeah if the game is good then it's a completely justified simulator. Euro Truck Simulator 2, Train simulator, Surgeon Simulator. All good

But the farming, Forklift, Garbage Truck, Goat sims. Just need to stop being made.

The reason I say goat sim is shit and surgeon sim is good is because surgeon is not a laggy, buggy, unoptomized piece of garbage. Adding on to that goat sim is intentionally crap because it's 'funnier' apparently. Both take the piss of the term 'simulator' which is fine, but the game still need to work.
