The Video Game Thread

Oh, I think it's super cool, I'm just not willing to fall into the hole that is Kerbal and put in the gazillion hours that you crazies do!

 

I still need to choose a GOTY. Last year was easy Antichamber came out in February and stayed at the top for the rest of the year. So I've got like 5 games I want to try and they're all on sale currently

 

Oddly enough, re-releases where in my top 5 the last year years running. Persona 4 Golden for 2012, and Muramasa Rebirth for 2013, maybe not GOTY, but they where up there.

Actually, hand held games ended up being much on my list, Fire Emblem, Bravely Default, Dangan Ronpa, etc. etc.

Gotta go back and look at what actually came out this year.

 

There are still tonnes! I still need a Wii U... and there are actually games coming out for it I want to play

 

Same. That's two consoles I have to save up for now.

 

PS4 or Xbox One? I can't even remember what games I want for the PS4 right now. I'm actually more excited to get a Wii U eventually.

 

Ps4 not really a fan of xbox's unless they are cracked to play all games.

 

Literally bought my Wii-U on release weak just so I would be prepped for when Bayonetta 2 came out. Was totally worth it.

 

So I have caved in and bought Interstellar Marines. I've been eyeing it for a long time, and either I was out of funds when it was on sale, or it wasn't on sale when I had the funds. Now I had the moneys and it's on 25% sale... Nothing great, but it's still 1/4th cheaper!
Anyone else owns this game?

 

I bought a WiiU almost exclusively for Smash 4, but I find myself just playing Melee all the time... My local Monthly tourney does carry Smash 4 yet, so I don't feel as much incentive to play it.

 

This is the reason why I want a wii u, so I can have my Bayonetta fix.

You know what I really hate about TF2. Uncrating. I've probably opened over 200 crates since I started playing 3 or 4 years ago. No unusuals. During the Electric boogaloo probably opened 50, no unusual. Last week I opened 53 in one sitting, no unusual. And soon I'm going to open up another 50 when the Christmas keys go up, not gunna get an unusual.

I really shouldn't complain tho... I do have 2 unusuals and have had a total of 4 over my history.

I miss my Blizzardy Storm Exquisite Rack sometimes. I had that for over 1 year and I always wore it but then I traded up to a Terror-Watt Exquisite Rack. I still like it but I do still miss my blizzardy. I feel like trying to buy it back sometime next year, maybe on it's 2 year aniversary since coming into my hands.

 

Are we talking about being terrible people? Because I'm pretty sure I'm a terrible person.

It's worth noting these are only counting from after the steam trading card thing started which was middle of 2013. Also worth noting I've spent more than twice that on sex toys in the past few months

Smash tourney today! Time to get stomped!

 

Well, The smash tournament was a ton of fun, even though I didn't do terribly well (that was kind of expected).

Went 2-7, and even though I got stomped quite a bit, I managed to get the 4th ranked guy in my area down to a one stock situation in one of my games. Not bad, and definitely something I'll be doing again.

 

It's too bad they don't really do those sort of things here. Or at least not with the kind of people I want to play competitive with. They're either 14 year olds crying over their defeat, of 36 year old fat neckbeard no-lifers, hellbent on winning. Even the "friendly" not-serious events turn out ending like that. I just want to enjoy the matches man..

Also, on the topic of winning and (fake)Internet points. Is there anyone else here that doesn't give a damn thing about them? Am I the only one who plays for his enjoyment? People always go through hell and beyond to scold me over something they're 'better' at when they can't seem to win.. "But I died less than you" "I did more damage" "but you stole my monsters from me"

Who cares if someone else is better? Join a different server, move to a different spot on the map, play some other game if you loathe losing..

 

God damn, I forgot how much I HATE Destiny's PvP. Its nothing but power weapons and super abilities.

But I need to suffer through it for an exotic bounty.
