I completely agree with this other then medical reasons obviously.
But the reason why the hygiene "problems" are used in the argument so much is because in America so many guys have been circumcised they do not know how to take care of one, so they don't know what to tell their son/s and that can lead to bad hygiene.
All it really take is a small bit of reading or asking someone that knows.
My advice is.
When they are still young (baby/0-6) just leave it a lone, don't try cleaning it there is no need at that age.
To avoid tightness of the foreskin at the age of about 6-7 get them to start pulling the foreskin over the head of the penis when they pee, the first number of times they will want to do this slow as it will be tight and will hurt if they do it too fast, at this time they will want to get in to the habit of cleaning the head/under the foreskin when they take a bath or shower.
That is pretty much all there is to it.
