Currently feeling a bit upset over this whole ordeal with Leelah Alcorn. She seemed like such a sweet person and doesn't deserve all the hate and bullshit that's still being slung at her. I'm so pissed at the monumental assholes who are finding humour and reasons to be massive bigots in the whole situation. I mean, fuck's sake, her parents are some of the worst involved. Why do people have to be such pricks?

 

because it's the internet and people will be assholes. I also can't stand the over the top people in support of her that constantly scream "DEATH TO ALL CIS SCUM 2015!" "MAKE THEM BLEED FOR HER" "BURN ALL TRANS-IGNORANTS!" it's just as bad if not worse than the haters

 

I can't say I've seen anything like that at all. I don't blame them to be honest though, it's hard not to feel like lashing out when shit like this happens.

Yeah plus gambesons are supposed to be worn under an armor and being made to protect from knocks it's not a big deal to cut trough it with a correctly sharpened blade. I don't know what they are trying to prove here but of course I don't understand their language so maybe it is explained.

 

This is actually a local news story for me. I live about 40 minutes south of King's Mill, OH. It's been in our local paper and on their website. Oddly enough, the comments on the website have been pretty good. I say oddly because it's often a cesspool of ignorance and personal agendas (which is great to see coming from the people that live all around you.)

 

No, it is not, they just say some not important babble x3 But they were - in theory - doing this to show what an unexpected assassin could do to a person with only clothing on. Gambesons were used here because they're even tougher (I think) than normal clothing, yet the sword cut through them.

if I were an assassin I would probably just use something like a historic Sicilian stilletto, basically a weaponized ice pick, works against clothing, maille, thin plate armor with enough force and is easy to get into the gaps on heavier armor but that's only used in certain situations (something most movie makers and anime nerds don't understand)
