yeah, if you don't do basic stuff like wash your hands and junk and use an alcohol disinfectant. if you wash the sound with hot water and soap and then disinfect it it's almost always fine, if you drop it on the ground or stick it somewhere it shouldn't go like your nose or ear or butt then you need to boil that thing. been experimenting with sounding for a while now and I see why it's not everyone's cup of tea but I also see there's just as much superstition and misinformation out there as there is for anal sex "erhmigerd! if I put ANYTHING in my butt I'll need to wear diapers in 10 years!" sort of like "if I put anything in my dick it's gonna instantly go gangrenous and need to be cut off"

tl;dr: sounding isn't that risky if you have common sense and a thorough cleaning and preparation routine, just like doing anything anal

 

also made a 'proper' bowstring. single loop reverse twist flemish string made from polypropylene twine coated in beeswax. it won't last forever but it's easy to make, cheap, and works quite well. eventually I'll upgrade to B50 dacron, but for now I'll use what I have easy access to. now to just find something to do the serving with

Have you tried it out yet? And what kind of poundage are you getting?

 

haven't tried it yet, I need to buy arrows first and wait for warmer weather, extreme cold isn't too good for PVC bows, it's possible to use them when it's cold but it puts a lot of stress on them. I don't have a bow scale but it feels like it's easily a 50+ lbs draw. it's no over engineered Olympic athlete endorsed name branded piece of tech, but it works when you need it to, plus if it breaks you just run to home depot and buy another piece of pvc for under $5 and get two more bows out of it

 

Cool! That's easily good for most needs I'd say. I hope the heat of summer won't be a factor ether.

 

I finished the Talos Principle earlier. FUCKING AMAZING GAME, pretty hard though. Of the three possible endings only 1 pissed me off, 1 was boring, and the last was really badass. If you want the game and the best ending, ignore Elohim, go up the tower. You can always go back and get the other endings anyway. I'm probably going to play through it 2 more times (for a achievements and such) then start speedrunning/routing it.

Spoiler: INFO ABOUT THE ENDINGS. ACTUAL SPOILERS.

Badass ending would be like 90% and you go up the tower and win
Boring ending is 100% but you end underneath the tower, even tho you need to get to the 5th level of the tower.
The ending that pissed me off isn't even an ending technically. You just get sent back to the start of the game. You could count it as when you click on the terminal but I don't really know.

The only real difference between the Badass and Boring is that Boring you need to find 30 stars all around the game and then solve 9 more puzzles, and 4 tetromino puzzles, although the badass one has 5~ puzzles boring doesn't. and in Badass you just need to get all the (non bonus) sigils and tower climb.
Badass would absolutely be faster, those stars are really hard to get.

Regardless of ending you need to complete what feels like over 100 puzzles. So probably like a 4-5 hour speedrun with flawless execution and I don't know of any glitches

it shouldn't, you need to really heat the pvc up to be able to deform it, way hotter than even a closed up car in summer could do

 

don't worry, I'll save you from the cinnabon by taking them and eating them myself. this plan has no flaws
