The Video Game Thread

I'm just now learning how to tank on my paladin in WoW, and I'm not super great at it so far lol. Mostly issues with pacing/remembering where to go. You'd think I'd be better at those things since I've healed for years! XD

 

Eh, it's just a muscle memory thing . My MMO experience was elsewhere, but moving between classes, and especially roles (tank, dps, healer) takes a little repetition and practice to get the hang of.

 

I remember a traumatic experience of tanking once with a friend all because I was a Druid night elf.

Well she has a bear form so she's the tank the random group we joined said. My friend and I tried to protest but no they literally throw me into a pit of enemies in my bear form and expect me to know what I am doing.

Let's just say it didn't end well and the group died before me as the enemies ignored the dazed and confused bear right from the start. Then chased me round the dungeon once the rest of the party were dead.

 

Druid tanks are the woooooorst! இ_இ
I played a discipline priest pre-cata, and we would always wipe at least once when we had a druid tank. In PUGroups at least. And GOD DKs were just as bad with DPS (when WotLK was released, I mean), constantly pulling aggro from the tank, then when I healed them I got ALL the aggro of course. Ugggggggh. (╯°□°）╯︵ /(.□. \)

 

I actually do agree about bear tanks, they're my least favorite to heal (my main healer is a Disc.) Favorite tank to heal is a Paladin, and also my favorite tank to try and be haha. I tried druid tanking once, it's horrible to level. Must be even worse now with the pruning. DK tanks are good if played right, and warrior tanks can be good but struggle with AoE. I'm also really biased because someone I used to know was a really good Pally tank. XD

 

I've never had trouble with a pally tank, warriors have been always been hit or miss though, and I've have veeeeery few good DK tanks but the good ones were really good. ◕‿‿◕
But this is also during WotLK lol, I stopped playing shortly after Cata was released.

I've never rolled a tank, it always seemed like it'd be boring. ╮(─▽─)╭

 

Warrior tank forever, if DPS are careful to not attack every targets at once there is no issue and it's unbeatable on one target only.

 

Pokken Tournament fighting game looks like its coming along nicely but most of the pokemon shown are ones that I am not at all interested in.

 

Anyone here check out Delver? I did, and I'm SUPER impressed with it. I'm a bit sad it was so easy to beat, but it's still in beta, so hopefully it'll be made a bit longer.

 

I love roguelike stuff, so I'll keep it in mind.
Had a lot of fun today, playing CS go with Vael and Snowlycan :3. Still looking for more players so we can run a 5 man.

 

Indeed it was fun @Wolfcat pity you had to witness me being kick cause of my voice. I like voice acting what can I say lol.

We did quite well for casual play :3. You were the top of the board in a couple matches.

 

I have spoken my mind on MMO's and turn based systems before.

I curse my roommate for introducing me to Wakfu; a MMORPG with turn based combat. It is a game based on a tabletop game, based on an Anime, based on a game, based on a story about a game, based on a story. Something like that.

It is free to play on steam. Now I have to retry X-COM and WoW now.

 

No seriously dude that's all me. I hate voice modulators cause they're horrible and if you want to be a voice actor you have to practice.

oh, I meant more CS: GO, unless you had something else in mind? CS is one of my old favorites, though, so I'm content to stick with it (hopefully getting a 5 man team going as well.)

 

Should we try assigning troops from the old forum? Or just keep it horde! Sounds like WoW talk.

 

I prefer The Swarm.

 

I haven't played CS since 1.6, but hey, I may be down for some games sometime. I'll probably pick up CS:GO soon
