The Video Game Thread

Any War Thunder players out there? We could play it too sometimes. It's fun :3 I just survived a game where my bomber (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consolidated_PBY_Catalina, PBY-5) survived a fight on realistic difficulty (IMO good compromise between realism and enjoyability) with :
-loss of control over steering surfaces (the one for rolling, I forgot the name)
-engine choke because of overheat
-lots and lots of holes in hull and tail section
-fuel leak due to above
And I even almost managed to land for repairs Missed the landing strip by good 100m or so, but the game was won just when I was about to crash into buildings.

 

No reason not to invite whomever might want to play. I don't know anyone *new* from the old forums, though.

 

Just remembering a good time in Saints Row 1, my buddy was playing, he had cheated to give himself a rocket launcher at the start of the game. One of the first things that happens is the entire Third Street Saints gang beats you up as a rite of initiation. They attack in groups of 2 or three. Well mister rocket launcher wasn't going to make it easy for them. Buddy fires a rocket at the leader of the Saints, Julius. Somehow it deflects off of him and goes spinning off into the neighbourhood. Julius charges in with the rest of the gang, en masse, and beats my buddy to a pulp. We laughed so hard.

 

I just spent 2 hours and 11 minutes trying to beat 1 surf map in tf2. I GOT LAST PLACE!!! 168/168 GET THE CAMERA MOM!!!

 

I can't wait for RPG Maker VX Ace to go on sale. I SOOOOO want to make a game!

 

Making games are harder than they look. If your good at creating stories although rubbish at art you can still make a good game. But without the stories and scripts saving the game with good graphics will only make it passable. But not as popular compared to a game with a story that plays on the emotions of the gamer.

 

Well, I happen to be fairly decent at both of those. (Or at least so I've been told)

My plan is to make a smallish game to begin with, using mostly preexisting assets, in order to get a feel of the technical aspects, then once I feel like I've gotten the hang of HOW to make a game, I can make a bigger game with preferably ALL original assets.

 

Well then give it a go sugarcube. Can't wait to see what you make.

 

All original assets? That's quite the project. But if you like making games, make games!

 

For fucks sake, I hate Marth soooo damn much in Melee... Just lost to 4 absolutely scrubby Marths because there's absolutely nothing Luigi (my character) can do against him.
He's absolutely broken at the level I play at, but I guess its a matchup I'm going to have to find a work around for if I'm going to get better.

I've been playing a metric ton of Halo recently; 1, 3, ODST. Reach is next. I also finished off all three Bioshocks and just completed Singularity. I don't know why everyone rags on Singularity; it was pretty good, aside from the whole railing thing.

Get out that 3DS and battle me instead! You can be luigi and dominate me with your weird moves and really nasty combos! I just flail around a lot and still somehow I'm not half bad!

I really want to see a sequel to brink, the game has a lot of potential but it was too rushed to work out all the bugs. I still really enjoy playing it even if no one else does

 

I played a decent amount of Brink when it came out, too bad the game was busted as crap. Still, I'm still behind the notion Titanfall did everything Brink wanted to do with movement, but better. God movement in that game was so fantastic.

Glad to see Dr. PeePee come back with a bang and win APEX 2015, even though he plays Marth, I can't even be mad, cause he plays it damn perfectly, and adds a bit of variety with his Falco as well...

Really on a Smash kick right now... So much I want to practice!

 

My live crew and I have started a new world in Minecraft, hard mode, "Iron Man" rules. Basically if you die, you get banned from the world. And if we all die, we restart from the very beginning.

Our goal for this world is to kill a Wither.
