The Video Game Thread

I do not sadly, but I plan on getting a copy.

Decided to switch over to Oblivion, new game. I've been sitting here for maybe twenty minutes doing the quick sneak method. This zombie has no idea where I am!

 

@Brynjhulf I know this has something to do with that thing you love, you'll have to explain something of it to me. I have no idea what it is but suddenly my tumblr is full of Persona 5 stuff

I always played male Shepard, since I couldn't really identify with female one... I might do a re-run of the series with female though, just to see all those romance options x3 (ESPECIALLY with Garrus, lol)

 

I almost always play as a female character if I'm given a choice x3 I just feel a lot more comfortable with it x3 I tried to do a male-shep run a little while back and I couldn't get past the first scene on the base x3

 

Same, though I can't say why. I can't use the "looking at their butt," argument (which I honestly think is a bit of an excuse , who's really looking for long?) I *was* a catgirl for 4 years :3


Darkest Dungeon anyone?
Roguelike dungeon crawler with awesome art and narration. It's in early access right now, but a very good one at that. It's slated to fully release in the next 6 months, with some improvements based on community feedback.
It's kind of stressful to play, but soooo good if you like the genre. Lots of classes to mix and match, and abilities to try out. Rougelike bit is that your characters cannot be revived. Dead is dead!
Setting is gothic-horror. Fantasy. Sword, shield, magic, style stuff.

Edit: I should add that one of the big standouts to this title is the "stress mechanic." Going down into the depths to kill monsters and find loot isn't all fun and games. It stresses your guys out! You need to manage everyone's mental health, or they become a liability. Still, it's a fun juggling act.

Fem Shepard all the way. Would have been cool though that if you picked dude shep all the characters switched gender. Female Garrus etc.

 

@vahaala @Brynjhulf Yeah I always play as female as well. I have a thing for badass redheads who are pale and beautiful. It's my default character in pretty much any game and Mass Effect makes it really come to life with the stellar performance of the emminent Jennifer Hale.

Her voice work is in every game you've loved in the last 10 years and you didn't even know it. Here are some highlights including a few from TV.

Galadriel in Middle-Earth: Shadow of Morder and pretty much every other LOTR game ever
Rosalind Lutece in Bioshock Infinite
Leah in Diablo III
Satele Shan and Bastilla Shan in The Old Republic and Knights of The Old Republic
Avatar Kyoshi in Avatar: The Last Airbender

 

hmmm… Might pick up Xenoblade Chronicles… I have not heard of a recent game that has received such universal acclaim.

 

Plus... there's Shulk....

 

There is that too! Underwear Shulk is the best skin in Smash 4

 

Just played the Darkest dungeon and that game is hard and I mean really hard. But super fun.

I was kind of in a panic when I had no real way to heal like in final fantasy games.

But I really must Thank @Wolfcat again for buying it for me out of the blue. *snuggles*

@scalie I saw your post about the Mad Max remake with Tom Hardy *drool*

There's also a Mad Max game coming out, not sure if you'd be interested but I certainly am! Looks like Fallout with cars and that's good enough for me!

 

Note for anyone who didn't know: "Taking an arrow to the knee" is an olde way of saying "getting married".
