family: "why are you cooking the steak that way? don't do that you're going to ruin them! why are you soaking the mesquite in water? why aren't you spreading the coals out all over the grill? how come you aren't checking and flipping them every 30 seconds? this meal is gonna suck thanks to you"

family 10 minutes later when they're stuffing their faces: "this is the best steak ever!"

why I hate cooking for others

 

Take the win and I know the feeling

 

I always love cooking for others, but having a gallery of people who haven't the faintest fucking clue how to cooking telling you what you're doing "wrong" is infuriating… Whenever I cook for anybody, I have a strict stay out of the kitchen rule.
Similarly, I decided to grab a bunch of stuff to cook for my family tonight… They like short ribs cooked low and slow, but I want to get experience cooking different things, so I got some oxtail, which cooks very similarly, and to my knowledge, has a similar flavour profile… After buying everything, I'm greeted with a bunch of "I won't eat that" and other bullshit like that. I hate having to cook for people who are less open to trying things than most 5 year olds...

 

But amusing too xP

Long day indeed.

Home finally. All set for the 5k in the morning, possible renaissance festival afterwards. Another good weekend.

 

I'm looking at what's up for the future and I'm really hoping things get better.
My summer is more than likely going to be spent slaving away as I make an attempt to work 2 jobs (which for some people will see that as a walk in the park).
So more than likely no fun for me this summer >.>

 

I have no more breakfast items. Well, haven't for the last few days.

All my money goes to League! Just kidding, I didn't really have enough out of pocket money to pick up some food...

Poached eggs + bacon + toasts + oatmeal would make for a good breakfast IMO

Holy crap. It feels sooo good to take a seat, and I'm a guy who prefers to stand.

Too tired to go to BARF today. I need to peel out of these sweaty clothes, take a nice hot shower, then sleep.

 

figures, if I accidentally break something in this house I get read the riot act, if someone else ends up getting pissed off and slams a cabinet door and breaks it in half it's totally not their fault and I get to fix it while they second guess everything I'm doing. I can't wait until I have my own place someday so when I have to fix stuff I won't have to be interrogated about what I'm doing and if it's the correct way to do it

needless to say, I spent my morning fixing a cabinet frame and cleaning up broken mirror/looking for a replacement mirror
