exactly, the microaggression theory stuff and all the other bullshit is getting taken way too seriously, like almost to the level of McCarthyism serious. let's say Brown university wants to hold a debate talk on "rape culture" and a woman professor might say it's BS and some people will take offense at it, what do you do? of course! hold another talk saying the other talk is BS and then provide a "safe space" with coloring books, playdoh, cookies, bubbles, pillows and blankets, and a video of puppies playing. how is that not treating adults like toddlers?

I'm curious to see what happens when someone graduates and shows up to a job interview with that kind of behavior. what happens when they tell the person who just hired them to check their privilege or to only use the words and concepts they approve of? it's not gonna go well for them. then again it'll make it easier for everyone else not made of tissue paper to get a job

Yeah old forums suck. I still get washed away by other people gushing about how wonderful things are or whatever. No one gives and fucks over there. Like Teemo came in and blinded them...

I usually look at people's avatars. sometimes if the avatar changes to something completely different I think it's a new person posting until i read the name. I'm probably always going to have the smiling snake because I haven't found anything better and it fits the name lol

hmmm, so I just got an email and apparently the university farmed that survey off to a student led group and they aren't going to use my survey answers in their study because my answers "don't represent the experiences we believe are happening on campus" and "to avoid potential inconsistencies in our findings between surveys your answer will be omitted to preserve the integrity of our message" basically they're cherry picking their results to represent whatever trend they want it to represent.

I'm gonna make sure to report that to the college administration and if they don't call them out on their bullshit that email is going to the news. that is not okay in academia, especially if it ends up affecting how all the students are treated and expected to act based upon the findings

Not to mention my phone went to shit and I lost all my bookmarked sites and passwords aswell.

 

This is the kind of bullshit that gets me all stirred up. In both the good and bad ways.

 

Well, that's sort of the exact opposite of academic/scientific...
It's amazing how people are so willing to lie/embellish/cheat if it suits their agenda... Or it could even be that the surveyors are so blinded by what they're trying to prove that they seriously think it effects absolutely everyone and that anyone who says otherwise is an outlier or being dishonest.

We do, but they're not enforced often unless there's specific complaints.. Mainly on chavs with tiny 1L - 1.4L hatchbacks with massive fart cans. And the break was mainly because the rubber had deteriorated and the pipes into the back of it kind of rusty. It was fairly old tbh, and this weather/roads isn't kind to our cars.

I talk about shit like this happening all the time because it certainly isn't uncommon, but people never believe me and think I'm some censorship paranoid crazy.

Also, I tried finding this site via google... unsuccessfully. Just how does anyone find this place?
@ everyone worried they aren't noticed. I certainly recognize everyone posting here for one thing or another! Everyone here brings something to the dragon table.

Edit: Also, there is a skype group. It's *moderately* active. Anyone can join. It's all text based, and people chat throughout the day about whatever. That probably does pull some posts from here, but what can ya do
