Watching this anime about a middle school boy whos struggling to find acceptance for wanting to be a girl and is in love with a friend who happens to be a girl that wants to be a boy. Its really interesting because they're starting to realize how differently some people treat them, especially now that they're reaching puberty

So I just had the misfortune of coming across (for the second time) the most obnoxious, arrogant and abrasive asshole tool I think I have ever met in an online game. He spams "ez" whenever he wins, loses or someone tells him to piss off. Then also whenever he kills them. He also bitches SO MUCH about things that kill him when they do, even when using "cheap" shit himself. And of course, everything he has is "legit", but if he's beaten by anything, it's OP and you're a noob for using it. He claims to be 7 years old, and whenever anyone tells him to act mature and grow up, he uses that as an excuse. He pulls the "I'm good at this game so I'm better than you" shit so much, and uses a trollface emote whenever he gets a kill or wins a game.

And the frustrating thing about it is that he is actually good at the game. Infuriatingly good in fact, but he's such an obnoxious tool about it. When I asked him what his problem was, he said "Nothing, no problem. I just want you to accept that I'm superior to you." I mean, I sorta enjoyed winding him up, and the other people in the game got a kick out of poking fun at him, but jesus christ did I want to smash his face into his keyboard. /rant

    Is it Wandering Son?

I'll tell you you're a great person and flatter you with compliments and act like a friend and there's pretty much no chance I'll ever get to even see your pants let alone get in them and that's okay! You deserve to be lavished with praises and compliments ^^ just for the sake of telling somebody what I think of them!

And don't fret over a little annoyance like a sex-fiend who doesn't appreciate you. You haven't lost anything on his account. Compliments from me are worth a million times what he has to say because I honestly think you're the kindest, sweetest, coolest thing ^^ and I have no reason to tell you that other than the fact that it's true ^^

Put him from your mind, trust me, it's his loss ^^

I love online games, but this is the part I hate. Especially in competitive games -.-. Which game, btw?

It's a big deal, but not a reason to RP two-face.
Was it anyone we know :p

    Blacklight Retribution.

Still, I only came across one other person like that tonight, but met loads of other cool people at the same time. As opposed to LoL, where I tried to get better with a champion I'd never used and had people raging at me, telling me to quit/uninstall/kill myself literally every match I was in. I got raged at for rushing in too much and getting killed, then in the same match got raged at again by the same people for staying back and being cautious. I mean, seriously, what the fuck is wrong with people? We can't all be amazingly good in games. -.-

Dont get me started. Went into Blind Pick this morning only to end up as Gangplank (who mind you is top/support champ) and they forced me to jungle. Like seriously. Gangplank is at best a weak jungler. Everyone was telling me that he is a jungle and to stop complaining and that I insta-locked and was to be reported for trash talking when I wasn't. This dude who was Veigar kept complaining I took his kills and I'm like "Who's the whiny bitch now?". I reported everyone except Zed. Gangplank is a poot jungle and I hate blind pick.

oi, yes, that attitude kept my champion pool in LoL *tiny*. I'd be afraid to try something new and deal with abuse the entire time. Granted, this did mean I was pretty good with my little repertoire of heros, but still...
Same attitude when you miss a shot in Counter-strike. I'm sorry, targets are bloody hard to hit in that game, and we're down in silver league. Maybe start bitching when you're playing with world elites (upper echelon of ranked players.)

GP jungle XD. The legend never dies!
Sometimes GP jungle goes hilariously right, but it's pretty bad in general.

I don't think I should be playing online games. I'm not competitive, and getting stomped just infuriates me. I'm such a casual gamer sometimes, I hate the way gamers these days act, this whole superiority thing, this obsession with precision and perfection and challenge, I just hate it all. There are just so few games out there that really appeal to me the way they're "meant" to be played, it's like I remember what it's like to have fun with a game and everybody else is busy honing their useless performances down to an infuriating level of precision so that for one minute they can feel superior to somebody. Then they just spam shit like that.

Whatever happened to having a good time? Where did all this pressure come from? I've never had a single ounce of fun trying to out-compete somebody. I have fun screwing around. I have fun playing Red Dead online where me and several other players hunt one guy across the desert for no reason and he laughs with us. Or we ride horses at each other armed with throwing knives in what we called jousting. I like playing tennis with thrown items in some games and I like exploring in a way that doesn't cost me patience. But nooooo every game has to be dark souls and smash bros and LoL and WoW and everybody has to fit neatly into a series of clearly-defined moulds to complete the game in a clearly defined way and anybody who just wants to have fun is missing the "point," and not playing "right."

    /rant.

Yeah, I tried picking Jinx (my main) in one game and got told to choose someone else because we already had someone playing ADC (Graves). I told them that I was new to the game and I'd only ever used Jinx (which is true), so they told me just to pick someone else. I picked Ahri (<3) and tried to play support for Graves, ended up getting abuse because I was "stopping Graves from leveling up by auto attacking minions". We ended up barely winning, with Graves failing to keep up with leveling despite me doing as I was told and he scored last besides me. I'm just done with that game, I just can't seem to do anything right in it, and nobody bothers to give me constructive criticism.

    @AkaiKitsune @Exeter @Wolfcat @Jazzi the Pegasus
Am I the only one who adds their own special brand of "replay" value to videogames?
For instance, when I played Zelda Majora's Mask, I would act out all kinds of dumb scenarios, like changing into a Zora and climbing up to the platform on the clocktower in town and pretending to play a concert on the guitar

As a counterpoint: I love the feeling of getting better at a game, and learning. However, I *hate* people who do the same, and then lord it over someone else in a show of superiority (so I agree with you there.)
And dark souls is bloody awesome! You shush! It's actually a very fun exploration based ARPG with a bit of a learning curve.

LoL has been around a while and has a definite "meta" that everyone is meant to follow. Things certain lanes, characters, and positions are meant to be doing etc. There's not much you can do, as a new player, to learn all of that without simply playing a bunch. I just wish the community wasn't so abusive to people clearly learning a role.

Especially when you say "Hey, I'm new!" They should be more understanding, and try to explain things.
I ended up playing a lot of games with chat disabled, before I stopped completely :p

    Eh.. *tries to think*
Well, It's not so much silly fun, but I'm currently RPing an old FFXI character in dark souls II. Efficiency be damned!
Might do my Dark Knight next! Just a shame I can't do it as a cat girl.

Nope. Example: I love using stupid weapon and armour loadouts in shooters. I have a sniper rifle in Blacklight that is built to do the minimum damage possible, and only has a 3.30 zoom scope on it. It is IMPOSSIBLE to kill anyone without a headshot with it, but it's so fun to use. I also had one that I loaded with explosive ammo which, although it makes it almost useless, it looks badass and has the generated title of "Explosive Thundering Nightmare". I also have an Anti Materiel Rifle which is completely impractical against anything but vehicles with a 6 second reload time and a 2 second zoom in, but holy shit do I love the noise it makes~ It thunders though my subwoofer with every shot.

Nnnnnnope. I can tell you I have actually played the zora guitar to songs I was listening to at the time. I've played the whole game as great fairy link just for fun, I've played all kinds of games with internal roleplay elements defining my actions, I've invented whole motivations for things and imagined scenarios for all kinds of things. I've played Megaman X and built a little tunnel to live in in the Sting Chameleon stage. I've played Ocarina of time like Link was three entities sharing a body with distinct personalities and weapons (based on the tunics.)

I've found limitless ways to have fun in games and none of them have ever relied on defeating somebody else. I've never felt the need to be an asshole and never felt any reason to pick on somebody. I've never felt a need to lock somebody into a combo they can't get out of just to make them frustrated. I've never felt the need to spam or deride another player. I've never felt a need to do anything but let fun take shape in the space I share with others.

That's what playing Blacklight is like for me, if you don't get little shits like the one I mentioned. Even if one team stomps the other, everyone says GG and we just have casual chat all the way through. I had someone tonight tell me "wow, your gun build is pretty strong. Can I try it?" and I gave him a go with it. He couldn't handle the recoil on it properly, but complimented me for being able to.

We also had opposing players complimenting each other even though they were pounding each other into the ground. "Damn Mahz, you're one hell of a mean sniper", "Nice build Skyz, 22/4. You're doing really well with that." Then when the teams occasionally got unbalanced, people would offer to take it down a notch and, for example, use worse weapons or stop using certain equipment and armour combos. Personally, when I was doing really well at the expense of the other players, I'd switch to just using my pistol for a game or two and created some humorous moments that we all laughed about. It was honestly one of the most pleasant gaming nights I've had with complete strangers.

I was telling my roomie how much I loved this Nox. He said it looks like the sky is taking a dump. He has official declared it "Sky Turd".
