Grrrrrr.... My computer packed it in! Now, not only am I in need of a new one ( $$$$$ ) but I have to go without one for the time being... And I sort of rely on it for a lot of entertainment...

Also, my Henry is in town, and the delivery guy left a note at my door saying so could pick it up at the location specified. He didn't fill out when I could pick it up or any other info, so I just assumed I could get it any time the store was open... Nope! Drove down to the store to have them tell me it'll be ready sometime tomorrow maybe cause a customs agent has to inspect it and assess the duty I have to pay... (Hope they have fun thoroughly handling a 19 inch horsecock)...

 

You'd better make solid eye contact and smile and thank them for that horsecock :3

 

Be sure to say something like. "Oh thank goodness. I've been waiting my whole life for this. After tonight, I can die happy."

 

I did that exact thing when the fedex guy dropped my stuff off last time. When his face was 100% WTF I almost burst out laughing.

 

My last box said silicone sculpture on it, I told him it was a figure from a game, he mentioned delivering those to hobby shops and games shops. He didn't ask about the line that said "lubricant" though XD

 

Fuck UPS... Why does anybody use such a customer last company...

I apparently missed the delivery, though I was sitting right next to the door at the time it was apparently here... It's like pulling teeth to figure out where my package is now and what my options are... They close at 5:30, and just tell me to pick it up tomorrow, whereas most shipping places Ice worked with are open to 7, so there's time to pick up a package from the depot if you miss it during the day... And on top of all of that, they charge an exorbitant 120$ brokerage fee...
I hate UPS soooo much, and NEVER use them if I have the choice.

Edit: And how can I forget... Talking to a person is impossible. You get a machine, it tells you what you're doing... There's no understanding, no trying to make anything work... It's their way or you don't get your package.

 

Yeah, I accidently ordered my last toy via UPS. It's en route...
Previous experience with UPS is they show up *late* and usually don't understand the intricacies of the modern doorbell (which I will hear.)

Here's hoping we both get our deliveries in short order.

 

If they give you any problems, especially if they attempt to charge you more, request them to examine the GPS history of the delivery truck.

 

Well, things just got even more shit. My dad lost his job and subsequently the only income my family has. His circumstances and age make his employment prospects minimal, and he doesn't have a backup plan or a large amount of savings. My mother's understandably panicked and I'm shaking with worry right now.

 

Oh, shit . I don't even know what you can do over there. Any way to receive unemployment pay, or support from anyone?

Not a chance. The best we can hope for is a redundancy payout, but it won't be much.

Good thing is my Boss and Foreman are cool and understand that shit happens sometimes. Also this is the first time I've done it in like 7 months (since I started working with them).

 

Oh boy, this is going to be a long one.

Background, there used to be a private college known as Everest college, owned by corinthian colleges in the USA, though the Canadian branch was mostly running itself, just had to report to the American bosses. The American branch got into a lot of trouble due to falsification of statistics and were sued for a crap load of money. In the end, they got shut down. The Canadian branch was investigated, but there was no evidence of illegal activities.

They were very hush hush about the whole thing though. They didn't tell their staff other than those of the very highest authority. The Canadian branch was pretty much completely unaware of what was going on.

So, I was a student of Everest college. I took their medical laboratory technician program. It's taught by some very experienced people, and is looked upon quite favorably by the medical community. They were also going through CMA (Canadian Medical Association) accreditation in order to boost their standing some more, and show that they're legit. They got it, and as such once I graduated I could say that I went to a CMA accredited school. IT was an expensive program by the by, about 16,000$ for the year.

Here's where things go to shit. See, Everest college was apparently looking for a buyer while I was still taking my classes (Yes, they still accepted students when nobody owned the company. Bloody idiots). I'd taken out a student loan to pay it of course, ain't nobody got that kind of money just sitting around.

Now, I'd actually managed to finish my program, and I even took the CSMLS exam (national certification of "this person can do x well" kind of thing). Here's the problem, they never gave me a diploma, nor anyone else in my entire class. Apparently they were pushing through the final paperwork to get the diplomas out, and then BAM! Government of Canada comes in and shuts Everest down. No warning, no notice, and no plan to assist the 2,000+ students they just displaced. Everyone just showed up at the doors and they're closed for business, staff included.

So yes, that was two months ago. I still haven't got a diploma. "But", I'd been telling myself "The diploma doesn't even matter. I took the CSMLS exam, that's better than a diploma!". Which it is by the way, if you've taken that exam, it means you know your shit. Problem is, I still had to wait 6+ weeks to get a letter saying if I passed, as well as my certification.

So, I got an email today from CSMLS. They can't even tell me if I pass or fail, because part of their verification process is to check and see who I actually am, and if I've even gone to a college for the test that I took. They don't look at pass fail, just at who went and who didn't. Well, here comes the government to fuck everything up again! They're not letting CSMLS look at the records.

So yeah, right now I'm 16,000$ In the hole, and my education doesn't mean jack squat without a record of it, AND I am in no way eligible for a refund. Fuck me right?

 

That's some bullshit, do you have any records of registration? I can't imagine why you and everyone else should be responsible for something that has nothing to do with you guys. Maybe a class action lawsuit is in order to straighten out the retards responsible...

 

Registration isn't enough. They don't care if you pass the program, but you do need to have completed it. We can't sue the school because they've declared bankruptcy, and I'm not sure if the government can be sued in this situation.

EDIT: Update! This shit just keeps on getting better. One of my classmates got to talk to someone from the ministry of education, and apparently they have absolutely zero files from our class.

So now apparently they've taken all of Everest's files, and they have no information on us other than the school registry. I don't even know anymore man.

 

Well sorry to those who don't like it, I honestly didn't expect it to win either.
Obviously there's a huge amount of non-vocal people who really liked it, but the vocal ones are slowly getting me down.
Oh well, it's not my problem. :>

 

I actually like everything except the color choice, and a very minute part of the head shape. Otherwise, I'd love one (In XL.)
Might get one anyway, because I prefer function over aesthetics.

 

Yeah, I don't see what's with all the hate on it! Perhaps the flesh tone doesn't look great on it, but it looks like a great functional toy and probably looks a lot better in different colors!

 

Honestly I don't mind the shape. The head is lovely. But the colour choice is pretty strikingly weird for the release toy. I really hope when you get your contest winner toy you'll do a review! I want to see it in electric blue and magma drake and all kinds of colours.

A user on the old forum got a chance that looked like rotten bananas. It's amazing how often the colour scheme can make something beautiful instantly unappealing. Don't listen to the hate, it's an accomplishment, you should be proud, and enjoy your winner (weiner) as much as possible <3
