For a good comparison watch an episode of Highway Patrol or The Force (aussie cop shows, you may see me on The Force) and compare it to Cops.

 

I'm not a fan of reality cop shows.

 

Is there really such a thing?

 

I wouldn't necessarily call Cops a "reality" cop show, The First 48 I feel is more realistic.

 

Because other reality shows like Survivor and Big Brother are made for realism?

 

First 48 is far more realistic, but it's more of a look at the investigative side of things, not the operational "on the streets" side. It only takes 5 minutes of each to see a very different approach to dealing with the public.

I only watch Highway Patrol for the laughs. I know a few of the coppers on it and it's funny to see how they act in front of the cameras. Having been filmed for a day, I know how awkward it is to have a live microphone and camera on you all day.

 

I personally believe it's not AS MUCH the number of guns....but perhaps more of how easy it is for idiots with issues to get one. All they need is money, an ID, and in some cases, proof of gun training (and also sometime a concealed carry license if they plan on doing that).

Unfortunately, I CAN see where you are coming from with that. Idiot with issues walks around with a gun, so the cautious home owner decides they need a gun, and then the police become more willing to reach for their gun, and then with all that going on some certain people end up having to get a concealed carry license and a gun on their person to feel safe.

While I may want many different real guns near me, I want them all at a firing range in the hands of an expert with more digital recording tech than you could shake a stick at. And hopefully Adam Savage, Jamie Hienaman, Grant Imahara, Tory Beliechi, and Cary watching and providing realism insight. (because I don't want to make a DICE Physics video game.)

 

I would very much like to watch one of those shows, peering at all the officers, trying to figure out which one likes Horse Dildos

I'd be furiously calling everyone and contacting the professor.

 

I feel so sad right now I'm actually thinking about stopping roleplaying, the only thing that has been giving me any kind of happy feelings lately.

I've already emailed them twice. if they don't do it I'll just have to do their parts myself and make sure to give them big fucking zeros on the group evaluation. we've had this thing assigned for over a week and it isn't even that hard to do. everyone agreed to try to have it done by noon today but they haven't done that.

 

For anyone here who uses or used FA prior to the IMVU Purchase, and remembers Dragoneer and IMVU both saying that IMVU would NOT change how the site was run.....a month later and they're already ordering folks around.

I'm not surprised, and I even wish I could remember who all I told that Neer/IMVU were lying just to say "I told you so.". This is how the big boys play.

 

Tomorrow, i start my first day at work as an assistant manager, and I'm kinda nervous about it out of the 6 brothers anf sisters i have, only one has given me words of congratulations and the majority of the support I've received was from co-workers. I was excited to talk to my friends about it, but of those i tried to contact I've heard nothing from. So, i hope i do an alright job. It's not an impressive job, but it's a step towards furthering myself and i was hoping to share it with those close to me. Yay life

 

So I just got a notice from my ISP that apparently there's been some illegal downloads associated with my account.
