Had a really fun day today with a coworker. We went to some local swimming spots and got to hang out under a huge waterfall, it was super intense

EDIT!: Also forgot to mention that this was the first time I've ever jumped off a cliff into a pool of water. It was about 10-12ft high and holy crap it was both scary and amazing!!

 

Completely exhausted today. Been having a really hard time falling asleep the past week, and the lack of good stuff has taken its toll. Tonight will be an 'early' night and I'll take 25-50mg of diphenhydramine, knock me the hell out.

Bought a medium Intuos Pro yesterday, which is pretty much just the current version of my previous medium Intuos 4 (the power ports on it snapped off) with some additional features - wireless, also the whole thing responds to finger touch and not just the stylus, and on that note the new stylus is identical to the one that came with the 4, and they both work on it. Although I'd gotten the drivers installed and my original Bamboo Fun (almost 10 years old???) working, it just felt bad. Such a small space required only wrist movements, and with wrist problems it's...nah, forget that.
Although I have been saving a little bit for the tablet since I got this laptop, and putting a lot toward it the last couple weeks, a purchase of this size means that something will go Horribly Wrong.

At the very least, digital art and design can be done, and that's good.

 

I'm not even sure what to think right now.

Went to the driving range with my dad, my sister, and her boyfriend. Shot "fine" (for a high handicapper.) Was nice to see my sister, though it's really sad seeing how badly life has messed her up . Bulimia/anorexia from age 10 through late teens. Drinking, cigarettes, and minor drugs during her mid teens, followed by an unbeatable addiction to meth (and who knows what else.) Hopping from boyfriend to boyfriend all the while. Whoever will provide her with a place to stay, and drugs... ugh.

Love her, but feel like there's nothing I can do to help. She does want to stay clean, but it *is* an addiction.

 

I hate the news, all news, blargh. I want a news channel where betty white, bob ross and morgan freeman read the news but don't make everything sound like it wants to kill you. and maybe weather with macho man randy savage for the lulz "and then a massive storm surge of badass fury is gonna come down on the eastern seaboard like I came down on so in so in the ring last night. oh yeah brother!" XD

 

I cannot think of Randy Savage without "that one" Skyrim mod coming to mind.

Oh I forgot to mention the dream I had last night. Evidently my friend and i were staying at a hotel for a convention of some sort. Separate ones. Made no sense. But mine had other people's clothes in it....but new toiletry items.

Later, there was this thing where a guest would hold a panel or whatever, AND MARKIPLIER WAS THERE. Wearing a backpack. So after the thing, I went up to him and hugged him and I was like "OMIGOSH, MARKIPLIER. You are hilarious!" and he just smiled and said hey. So then evidently we were going to class (?), and I somehow slid across the floor towards the back if the room. I forgot to mention I was also in a dress, but it was still fun. And said "Hey, that was pretty nifty!" or some shit like that. And Mark just smiled,

ugh, stupid "pink tax" stuff, it's not a tax, it's just that corporations and advertisement agencies will charge a higher price for products a specific demographic of consumers will likely pay more for due to scoial, economic, and cultural standards. if people are really that mad that a bar of ladies soap and a bar of mens soap from the same company with the same ingredients cost a different price, stop buying their shit. if it doesn't sell they won't keep trying to sell it at the current market condition. fuck, it's basic economics...

 

I must be a silly mare, but I thought the special monthly colours on bd toys were a free special month colour add on. Rather than having to pay full price for it!?

 

Look up from my phone, one of my mom's cats has just been staring at me from the dark without moving for... Several minutes now.

 

So I have to make a decision. Because of the oral surgery I need I likely won't be returning to work or the house I currently live at for the week. My mom has given me an offer.

She's been wanting to go away and relax since her parents died. You might recall the fiasco of taking my shithead sister to Vegas. She really hasn't had a chance to get away from the stuff going on here in 8 months. She wants to do a trip to the martime provinces, visit family on the seaside in Québec, stop in Ottawa, and just have fun for 3 weeks. She wants me to go with her. That would mean abandoning my fast food job and collecting some stuff from my current house just for the trip. I'd basically be away from my current house and now ex-boyfriend for about a month before returning to collect my junk and move, presumably out west to the prairies to live with my Dad in Calgary.

My stepdad cautions me that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to take with my mom and says if I'm going to feel guilty about completely screwing over my work, I should do it after rather than before. I should just take what I can and go start a new life with this huge adventure completely unlike anything I've done with my largely stay-at-home mom. She's never done anything like this on her own. She was getting cols feet until she thought of bringing me.

What do you think I should do?

 

@Exeter Well this seems like the nudge you needed sweetie. Just you and your mum with no sister sounds like a great plan. Mums naturally love their kids no matter what life they choice. So on this trip she might be able to provide some motherly advice to set you in the right direction.
*pokes your snout* do you honestly want to be a burger boy all your life? No! So tell them were to shove them and move on sweetie. Sure you'll be out of a job but a bit of freedom for three weeks in new places and on the road might open up your mind into trying new things. Heck I know it's hard now days to get anywhere in life but that doesn't mean you should give up and be stuck in the worse place you can be and except it.

In all honesty mothers do tend to know best, more often than not. Plus it will give you time to escape your own troubles and enjoy yourself.
Hell I went away to somewhere not that far from my job for just a day and felt relieved from everything that's been going on in my life.
So yeah, go for it dearie!

But seriously, if I could gather the courage to quit my job (even though I love it) and just go on a trip with favored family member(s) I would. Just because I sometimes wanna ditch life responsibilities for a while.

So go out there and let your mind expand from what you will expirence on the trip, and if things get tedious (which I doubt!), firgure out a reason why you decided to go (and not because the forum told you to, come up with your own reasons!).
