Male gamers can either make a game fun or royally piss me off. Today was one of those piss me off days though.
I voice commands as you do in csgo competitive and of course get asked if I am a girl. Which they were like oh cool. But as soon as I start shouting out hotspots, locations or weapon types, they switch and say I'm a boy of 13. All because I knew what things were in the game and was second rank in the game.
Called them out on it and they were like nah your a dude.
So frustrating and it shouldn't be in this day and age.

 

I typically just play games by myself...

Like any community, 20% or less will actually be normal human beings that know what respect is.

 

Or they might be the ones that want to know where you live so they can rape you. Or are major trolls. I troll the trolls because I don't get mad anymore. You tell me to go suck a dick cuz I can't plat my champion? Response :"At least I suck dick. Its only because I have bigger boobs than you. Your dick is too small anyway so your just jealous."

It's less male gamers, and more the "Pro Gamer" mindset. No one can POSSIBLY be better than you or know more, so you're gonna do all you can to put them down.

No. Just no. Can we please not start with grouping and stereotypes? I've met female gamers that are just as bad.

 

I stay away from games/genres that have given me poor or negative experiences. Main reason I hate pvp is because of the reactions after I get beaten. Very rare to get a gg or a glhf anymore, even in Hearthstone. Common courtesy isn't so common so I'll stick with my single player RPG's and visual novels.

 

I'm similar, and it's a shame. Some of my favorite gameplay involves PvP. CS: GO, Starcraft, and League of Legends in particular. The replay value from facing human opponents makes every match interesting. Unfortunately, PvP games draw some unsavory personalities. Between the boastful rub-it-in types, sore losers, elitist critics and, my favorite: The perfectionists**, I can't stomach it for long. That's why I prefer to play with friends.

** being a perfectionist is fine. Lording that trait over your entire team, and berating them for not playing like pros in silver league (really, any league) is silly. Nobody plays *better* when you constantly ride their ass with unconstructive criticism.

and I've been okish? I lost my dog around a month ago to cancer and that's been really hard on me because I've had him for like 90% of the life I can remember. But besides that I've been pretty ok
