Been napping intermittently since the last post.
I haven't eaten solid food since Thursday. Sure it's not helping but I can't even put water down. There was really nothing they could have done for me? I'm really sad about that.

Surprised to hear they don't already. Hopefully soon. 2018 seems like a ways off, but progress is progress and that's pretty cool.

Yeah, it's three years, but they have to give people time to reformulate all the necessary recipes, test them, make sure whatever substitute is safe for consumption, get them FDA approved, retool their factories, so on and so forth.

That was my other thought too.

Sorry I am doing this constant updating thing, I'm...bored.
While at the dr she checked and I did not have a fever. Now I am running one at 102. Body is hunkering down to fight this shit, but I feel like garbage. Also need to drink a LOT more and I'm still having problems dealing with the throat pain. Chloraseptic spray isn't doing what it's supposed to - numbing the left half (where everything started?) and causing sharp pain to the right.

Thank goodness. That stuff is horrible for you. It doesn't even have an RDA. The RDA is 0.

I just got back from walking 8 hours @ work, then walking 7 hours on the golf course (carrying a bag, of course.) Feet are a little sore... but that might be the shoes fault.

@Sheep That sounds awful :(. And the whinging sounds well deserved in this case.

I'd say get to a doctor and have them run a full panel. if it's becoming hard to get any kind of fluids that's a pretty big warning sign.

Phone call with Dad went well, worries about how he'd take my news about where I'm moving but it went well :)

Actually trans fats don't have any effect on taste, only texture. Companies pretty much only use it because it keeps stuff on the shelf longer.

I can see how that will be a downside in a lot of places considering a lot of surplus food that can't be sold here gets shipped to other countries. then again there will be a lot more twinkies and ho-hos going to homeless shelters and food kitchens that go past their sell by date, and probably a rise in the rate of diabetes

on another note, did little research and found that you can buy bottle cutting jigs on amazon, looked at a few and rigged up an experimental one out of a few boards and clamps and a carbide scriber. if I took the time to build a proper one I could get more even lines but the toughest part is heating it and cooling it to fracture only the scribe line. probably would do better to use a turntable and pencil torch for more even heating. my bottles also may have had a little contamination from cutting oil on them which probably fucked with the thermal properties a little bit. either way if I really wanna fuck with it I'll probably just buy a cutting jig for like $28 on amazon. I'm curious how potassium salt reinforced glass would react to thermal fracturing

Eh, maybe, maybe not. There is going to be some measurable good effects from this. it has been estimated that this will stop roughly 7,000 premature deaths per year, and an unknown greater number of non-lethal heart attacks.

Oh, I should mention since I forgot to include this earlier. This is only for things like processed foods. Foods that contain it naturally, such as some meat and dairy products, are still going to have it.

I'll wait and see on the figures. people are great at self destructive habits. take away one thing and they usually find another. if they don't use trans fats they'll end up replacing it with other fats, probably saturated fat which isn't much better. people will still probably eat just as much, so I doubt diabetes and certain other diseases will decrease since they aren't reducing sugars and carbs in them.

well that's good, I love me some good 'ol chicken fried steak with country gravy

Fried things...hm. No one around here has good fried chicken anymore.

My fever has gone down slightly. I'm not on the verge of hallucinating anymore, but still kind of fluffy brainwise. Throat is not hurting as much, but still a fair bit. We'll see how things look when I get up.

Fried food is probably not the best thing to have while feverish as it encourages inflammation in general. But wanting it usually is a sign your appetite is returning and you're getting better.
Now I'm craving fried chicken but there's only kcf nearby, tempting but immediately regrettable. If I wasn't so lazy I'd go into the city for korean fried goodies... I will contend myself with the frozen pastissies in the oven that just dinged!
