Squicked out personally by incest, but I see no moral problem with it beyond childbearing concerns and we don't block people from getting married based on the assumption that they'll have children. Polygamy could have some troublesome social implications given that most societies practice it as one man + many women, so you end up with a loss of available women, but that's a potential problem even in the case of polyamory (without marriage), and it doesn't seem to have destroyed anything. So sure, I'll say why not?

I'd prefer it if we dump the concept of marriage as a government-sponsored entity entirely: just have civil partnerships or groups based entirely on living arrangements and finances, since there's no reason two friends (or six friends) sharing an apartment shouldn't get the same and benefits as a married couple. Then make "marriage" a social construct, like an engagement or friendship. The government has no reason to know who your best friend is or who you're having sex with, so what's the difference? But it would mean overhauling so much of the law that it doesn't seem feasible.

Not that I'm not THRILLED with the ruling today :D

I'd just like to say that I was being sarcastic with the flaming priest comment. People killing themselves is sad without the context of suffering an incurable illness or some other such situation. I say this, because as it turns out, that priest really did set himself on fire. It was actually on monday, not after the supreme court ruling, but still.

Edit: After reading the entire article, it turns out this was actually a demonstration in favor of the LGBT community. The poor man felt that it was the only way that he could really get his community to listen to him.

Fuck, a state in America also passed a law on something else controversial today. I'm not going to say which state or what law because I don't want to start an argument, but come the fuck on...
Shit like this makes me so exasperated at humanity.

I wish I told you sooner. Attach a bed cover to a box fan at the foot or head of your bed.

    Homemade wind tunnel .
I sleep in one. The heighten wind speed cools me off very quickly

First time sleeping in the new house. It's super fucking quiet, I'd forgotten what kind of fucked up things you hear when you listen to the silence.

Spent the day meandering Toronto with @Aperture yesterday, we explored interesting stores, had the best poutines known to man, and inevitably ended up making out on the grass in a park under beautiful sunlight :)

hmmm, this weekend is my town's pride event, and I kinda want to go and maybe find some people I can hang out with, but there's also a folk festival, a rodeo, and a big pet doption drive, plus it's tourist season so everyone going to the grand canyon will be putzing along as slow as they can... nope, avoiding the horrible traffic
