oh yeah, it rained at work, then hailed, then rained AND hailed, then hailed even harder (I actually have bruises on my face from it >.<) and then it chilled the fuck out as soon as we had all the gear packed up and were leaving the job site... gonna have to work later sometime this week to make my full hours

well shit, seems the tritium vial in my little glowy keychain fob broke, gonna have to order a new one. I'm not worried about exposure since the vial contains such a small amount and even if I did breathe it in, which is unlikely, it should be out of my system in a few days)

EDIT: already found a reliable supplier, ordered a new yellow vial. may use them in the future if I have any projects that require tritium vials

I just like to see the complex patterns using the liner material as a spacer to help accentuate the different colors of the materials. I'm currently thinking of doing something with OD green canvas micarta, black or red G10 liners/spacers, and maybe some oak wood (I don't feel comfortable using C-tek yet, pricey stuff)

I had a yellow one of these (TEC-S323 isotope fob) the yellow vials have an 80% illumination output, green is 100% but not as pretty IMO. basically depends on what glowing phosphorescent coating they put on the inside of the glass to react with the beta radiation emitted by the tritium. almost all of the radiation is blocked by the glass but occasionally it is possible for a beta emitter to release a positron or two which can give off gamma rays and some Xrays from standard breaking radiation of free electrons, also a chance for antineutrinos but... meh (SCIENCE!)

hmmm... dreams keep getting weirder and weirder... had a dream I was at a spa run by giant ants getting a massage from a giant ant. and even weirder, it was singing classic show tunes

 

I thought my dreams last night were weird... All I did was get into a firefight, run over the first offender with a car, get shot in the right arm and shoot the last one after a one handed reload. No giant ants to be seen anywhere!
