Woke up from a nap in moderate confusion. For some reason I had the word "whumpus" stuck in my mind and was trying to figure out what a whumpus was supposed to be. Post-sleep-delirium-me decided it was a mannequin.

I've been getting into Forged in Fire lately. Been a looooooong time since I watched the History Channel without deep shame.

Spoiler: My chaotic day

Well my day was utter chaos today. Went to work for 7am, my boss turns up and said one of the fridges has been alarming. Urgh great! Immediately crosses my mind.

Find out it was my bakery fridge, which was strange as it was fully functional when I left yesterday. Noticed there was a strange smell coming from the primary fan so scooped all my stuff out and rested it around my work space.

Continued to open up before calling the techie guy and noticed one of the fridges automated covers was at an odd angle. Asked my boss to help me realign it. But sadly it was having none of it and ate the remainder of the cover. GREAT! Another thing I'd have to get fixed.

Called the techie guy and he said he'd be there in 4 hours. Luckily for me he arrived way earlier than the allocated time. I continued to work as he was fixing it and I heard a sudden hissing coming from the fridge the guy was working on. Venting the gas I presumed, but he suddenly dashed out of the fridge. After a minute or so the hissing stopped and the guy came back. He said have some bad news love, you'll need a whole new unit.

Which to me was surprising but understandable seeing as it has been running fine surely longer than I have been there. So I asked him what the smell was and he showed me the state of the copper pipes. Totally corroded. He explained he was just about to vent the unit when the pipe just sheared of the entire unit. So that's why he dashed out so quickly to completely shut it down on the main external unit in the warehouse.

So that's one thing bugger'd so I asked him whilst he was here to check the fridge unit near the till that has only been working on one side. He tinkered around in there for a bit and said he's got to order a replacement motor for it.

Other thing I directed him towards before he left was the fridge automated cover that broke earlier this morning. I asked if he specialises in this too. He said he could fix it. Thank god. But it's still knackered for now though. Hopefully no one touches it at closing as it will surely cause more problems.

One of my customers joked something about coming in threes. I decided to make it four and asked the very nice techie guy to order me a new light for the back fridge while he was at it fixing all my broken things.

So after 7 hours in complete chaos I can finally sit down.

 

I drank last night and because I was feeling nauseous and didn't want to puke later at work I puked before I b came into work. And now I feel better. Go me.

 

I know that feeling, way too many reality shows about people acting like stereotypical rednecks

 

Well had game night with the coworkers last night and had quite the amount of fun
Won a couple of games and we ended the night with a 4 player Co-Op that I can't remember the name of, but it was fun after we got done killing each other XD
Got home at 2:30AM, woke up at 10 and have to be at work in 40 minutes...bluh

 

Went driving with my parents today. Planning to take my driving exam Tuesday. I feel ready.

dialogue with parents before parting:
Them: So... I think your cousin wants to date you
me: Uh...
Them: Yeah, your grandma and cousin saw you at the store the other day, and kept bringing up how good looking you are, and that you must be a real "chick magnet."
me: *laughing* *doesn't know how to respond* (if they said that in person, I'd just say thanks)

Not going to pretend I don't appreciate the compliment, but the fact that it keeps coming from relatives makes it amusing. I'm a backwoods southern descent away from incest.

 

See I told you that you're good looking you just have to get out there more and interact you hermit lol.

As for the driving I think you are more than ready. Then it's time to apply for that job you've had your eye on.

But yeah incest is not something I thought you'd be into?

 

I'm not into it . Was a joke. And, who knows, if I grew up around it, I'd probably be "into" it.

 

Rumors of layoffs and even plant closings flying all over the place. All of them unfounded, but still a good illustration of how important it I don't loose this job. None of these other chickenshits have ever been willing to but heads with the board just so their workers can get treated like human beings.

I just bought myself a legitimate gaming mouse. It was dirt-cheap at $15.99 not incluing shipping, but the reviews encouraged me.

 

oh joy, $440 gone for a campus parking permit. too bad the nearest city bus stop is over 5 miles away or I'd just walk and take the bus

 

There's something Snowlycan and I need to do ourselves. Both using $5-$10 USB mice because it works "well enough."

I had a nice day off. Drove out to see some friends and have lunch. We talked for hours just shootin the shit. I'm dead tired right now though cause I unnecessarily woke up way too early this morning.
