What Is On Your Mind?

If I'd just roam the town and hunt for murals, I'm pretty sure I'd find some really interesting ones. I vaguely remember seeing one with otters playing with a ball, just can't remember where.

 

the whole class got an email from the dean of the art school, basically he's given that teacher her final warning since she was already on probation and if anything else happens she's basically fired on the spot. kinda pitiful considering she's only been teaching at this school for 3 weeks, apparently she got rave reviews from the faculty at the liberal arts school they picked her up from in washington state but then again that's probably also why they're having these issues with her now

Well, in all likelihood, you're not going anywhere for quite a while. My advice is to focus on doing what's important and not worry about being unable to finish. We can all die, at any time, for any reason. The only way to get by is to keep doing what we have to do. Thinking about dying won't help you accomplish your goals, but focusing on doing good work will accomplish whatever you've set your mind to.

 

if I keep serious about staying on top of my health and God gets laid before then, then maybe between another five to ten years, realistically closer to five. my heart has ironically held up pretty well, so that's not a big concern. it's going to be my kidneys that go first. my timeline is pretty concrete, so I have I decent idea what I'm working with.

 

I feel so bad for my friend...she did me a HUGE favor, even to the risk of herself, but now it seems that it backfired. I feel like her group of friends found out about what she did for me, and now they are attacking her. I feel like it's my fault and I wish there was something I could do to help her in return u.u

Of course I'm doing that, but that isn't going to help her. If anything, it's just going to make that group of people shun her more.
It was not my intention to ever get between her and those people. I never make anyone choose. She chose to be my friend, regardless of what her other friends thought of me. That's pretty commendable.

 

I don't get why guys do potentially superhumilliating things for girls, in public and recording it.
I'd puke the fuck out of myself if I somehow managed to pull one of those out, even if the girl actually told me "yes", "I do", "insert positive response here". God damnit I'd puke even if it was the girl doing it for me.

on another note, how the hell am I supposed to write a paper about an artists motivation to make whatever they made? sure there might be an interview somewhere where they say what their inspiration was, but I have to wonder if they lie to try to make it okay, like:
interviewer: "so what was your inspiration for this portrait of a human fox mantis hybrid?"
artist: "oh, well I wanted to make something aesthetically attractive that makes the viewer question their beliefs on beuty and attraction"
inside the artists mind: "better not let them know I would totally hit dat"

That's one of my biggest problems with art communities in general, the idea that things must have some sort of meaning or motivation behind it.

Spoiler: Story from my art class.

Reminds me of my highschool art class (damn you mandatory art credit). One day the teacher comes in with a bunch of magazines and asks us to tear through them and make something that has a "Deep message".

So I just decided to bullshit the project. I found a picture of a grumpy guy, cut out the head, then found another picture of mushrooms and put the mushrooms on the head. Glued both to a blank white paper and called it a day. Teacher saw me not doing anything and came over to ask what the problem was, told her I was done and pointed to it. She asked if she was supposed to believe I was done and asked whether or not I was really getting into the spirit of the project, so I decided to bullshit some more.

Paraphrasing because this was years ago, but it was something like this: "Of course there's a deep message Ms.____ , can't you see it? The man with the angry face is symbolic of people's continual dissatisfaction with society no matter how it changes, the mushrooms on his head are symbolic of the decay of thought people experience when they indulge in nothing but media consumption, such as reading magazines, and the blank space is a representation of a blank canvas, because everyone's life is like a canvas that is gradually being painted, and mine still has a lot of empty space."

I got an A.

 

Oh work saturday, it'll be easy, everyone thinks we're closed on saturday anyway. fucking bullshit. -_-
