What Is On Your Mind?

Is it true that you can get blown down the street in a hurricane. Or is it a myth?

 

@SnowLycan : Yep, every year. June through November is hurricane season, with October being the most active month. Though the past couple years Florida (at least the part I'm in) hasn't really had a bad one come through. We've had really bad tropical storms, which are just a step down from a hurricane, but nothing bad. They've all gone up north.

As far as being blown down the street, if the winds blow hard enough yes, but that would be the least of your concern. Like I said, the flooding a flying debris are the real dangers.

 

back from the review board. things went pretty well. the board consisted of two women and a man, all about middle aged. sat down, reviewed the campus PD report, witness statements, etc. they asked me some questions, had me retell the events to make sure nothing had changed. basically finished with them but had to wait for the student relations liaison to show up even though their decision doesn't mean jack shit if the review board has already come to a decision. had to wait 20 minutes past the end of the metting time for her to get there, SJW type. the whole time they "interviewed" (AKA interrogated) me they kept trying to frame it as if I was lying about the whole thing and was using it as an excuse to assault an LGBT student. had to basically reprove everything, show pictures of my boyfriend. (should I mention the irony of her at one point claiming I was victim blaming my assailant?) the review board obviously weren't very comfortable with how she was acting and eventually they had to tell her tone it down. afterwards they had me fill out a little survey thing and I made sure to include in the additional notes section that the student relations liaison should try to be more impartial and base things off of evidence and not conjecture. on the way out I heard two of the review board members talking to each other, seems they don't care for the student liaison thing either since it was a forced policy hange because people signed a petition and pretty much bullied the school into adding it. either way, the guy who groped me and all that shit is on probation pending further review and he might get kicked out.

 

If he is kicked out that'll piss off the SJW's. Kinda hoping that happens.

 

@GuyStripes I have seen on the documentaries that roofs like tin ones can just get ripped off by a hurricane.

I think England eventually gets the hurricane winds but not to such a dangerous level. The odd roof tiles and trees fall down. But nothing like you guys have.

 

@SnowLycan : Poorly built structures, major hazard for both residence and anyone around them.

@scalie : I blame the "zero tolerance" policies. Good in theory and moderation, but lately they've overstepped their bounds, and mixed with the hyper sensitives and SJWs out there the smallest things get blown out of proportion.

Gotta love the conquering PC culture.

 

I just hate how easy it is for people to game the system and pretend to really want to change things or help someone so they can have all the power and a defense to everything of "but I'm doing it for the right reasons/I'm on the right side of history"
never, ever trust anyone that actually uses that excuse. history helps to show it's a horrible idea

 

Agreed. Though I do think a lot of people with that mindset actually want to help, but there's just that portion that oversteps their bounds.

I'd actually say the people who go too far and legitimately believe they're doing the right thing can have more of a damaging influence than people faking for the power and recognition since often times they eventually get found out from bragging about it to close friends.

on another note, my favorite little mom and pop chinese buffet closed down so I tried the one on the other side of town and it was a lot better. the service was kinda crap, but the food more than made up for it

 

Speaking of hurricane stuff, my home may or may not be flooded by the time I get home...we'll just have to see

 

Sad to hear about those sailors that got lost out at sea because of that storm. :c They disappeared right by the eye of it.

Actually, I've worked a double before and worked a morning immediately after a night shift, so shouldn't be that bad. SO long as I am prepared.

Feeling a little better today after getting some more sleep.
Still can't believe that I've spent about $300 in stuff on Amazon, but still so worth it cause I'm now that much closer to realizing my Audio PC <3
Overall doing well, hope everyone is doing just as well.

 

Finally back from work. Baked so much today. Sales are certainly picking up due to this new manager.

 

Hi guys.

Alcohol is on my mind. Stay the hell away from it if you have poor self control, I almost unintentionally ended my life. My liver had enough and quit and it's a weird feeling looking in the mirror after being unable to sleep for 72 hours and seeing the whites of your eyes yellow and your skin as pale as the wall...not to mention the hallucinations were unreal.

So yeah, booze sucks, stay away. I'm stuck on a good diet and feel better than I have in a long time. Go figure?
