Clarification here, the flu viruses in the shots are typically inactive, with some certain exceptions. That's if the shots even include the virus itself at all, as some merely inject the antigen so your body can learn to create the antibodies on its own. The large majority of the time you experience symptoms after a flu shot, it's your body's immune response to a foreign body as opposed to the flu actually doing anything.

The only way you'll get the flu from a flu shot is if the shot contains only weakened viruses instead of inactivated viruses, and you have either an extremely weakened, overtaxed, or non-existent immune system.

New doggie! She is supposed to be 6 years but you never can be sure with rescues. She's sooooo cute <3 Name ideas? They called her "Emma", but..... That is not a dog name nor a very unique one.

I was thinking Shelob to go along with my other dog Bilbo. Though she is smaller than him she scares him a bit xD

Naming your dog after a giant terror in the form of a spider that's eating people doesn't sound very nice.
But eh, I can't think of a fitting name. Sorry. ):

Yes this is true, but that is assuming that this is my first flu shot, which it isn't.
The only way that any one has the chance of getting the flu from the flu shot is if they have never had it before and their immune system is very weak, or they're already sick at the time of the flu shot and they don't know it.

But generally since most if not all of us have had the flu at any given point in time, the flu shot will not cause you to catch the flu.

Went out to a wedding social last night, back in ontario we call them Stag & Doe or Jack & Jill, it's basically a party with prizes of many different kinds for the guests to help a couple raise money for their wedding. Went with my friend Sharon, she wanted somebody to go with her and I was pretty quiet and awkward, as I am. I don't really dance but I wiggled a little. I tried to explain to her that's my nature but I went anyways to keep her company and we had fun!

In the morning I went to work with her, and waited half an hour for the Tim Hortons to open so I could go get her a coffee and breakfast sandwich. She's stuck at the office for 11 hours managing political survey callers who are typically young, restless and inexperienced. So I knew she would need the coffee. Especially after the 2 hours of sleep she had last night. Then I stayed extra long to help her do some training for new people and to make sure she was going to be okay!

    tl;dr

    I'm a pretty good friend even if I don't dance :)

My only consolation today is I finished The Martian book finally, so now I can see the movie knowing the ending.

Also, I want to go to full Sail university, but dunno if I want to go with Game design (which has a master's program) or game developer. The computer science I'd learn becoming a developer could potentially be used elsewhere if I don't get hired for a game company, but I'd earn more with a masters.

I honestly thought that people were exaggerating when they said that when you reach your mid-20s your Facebook feed will be swamped with pictures of babies and engagement rings.
Today I realized that I have been proven wrong.

I have that now, end 20's. Weirdness, especially because I both don't want to get married nor want kids myself.

have to watch some videos for an art class and take notes and every one of them is prefaced by the same 5 minute PSA about managing stress when pursuing an art degree and how the workload can get to be too much and the university is offering 10 free counseling sessions to all students. damn, I'm taking 4 art classes and an art history and so far the work load has only been a fraction of what one chemistry, business law, or math class has been. I think they should maybe focus on teaching students how to not procrastinate and to prioritize more difficult time consuming work first with scheduled breaks to rest and work on other stuff they have due. it probably doesn't help that quite a few of the art professors procrastinate and still don't have a calendar of due dates put together almost 6 weeks into the semester.

on a positive note, it finally started raining, although the temperature is supposed to drop through next week and they say it's gonna get below 45 to 50*F by next wednesday

Tough decision. It really depends on what you want to focus on (i'm so helpful ~_~)

I'm heading out from now until Monday evening. Driving to my cousins (I *never* drive) 110 miles away, then going to a job interview at 8am tomorrow morning (and it lasts til around 5pm)

Wish me luck! I'm so nervous ;;.

There are perks to living in a city. Like that moment when you look up, and some architectural part of your mind, freshly stimulated by your friend, the cute design student, just turns the world into a million details that all mean something.

I've always found the Centre Pompidou in Paris interesting because they left the internal structure of the building exposed so after seeing it I've looked at a lot of other buildings and wondered how the designer hid all of it and if it in any way helped to shape the final external facade of the building

Then they can do whatever they want. My brain has never seen so many pictures of babies before and it has yet to get used to it.
