lol. This is something straight out of a movie, you wish for the end of Halloween and it goes away, but you didn't mean it and now you gotta go save Halloween with a plucky cast of monster people the same age as you

I want trick or treating where you get booze and barbecue... quick! someone get to work on that! lol

 

@doit666 I don't have any plans for Halloween and as I work in the morning tomorrow that eliminates going out. (To anything, not just drinking and whatnot.)

So yeah, my night will consist of Mike's lemonade and video games. Huzzah regular Saturday nights!

I played Hockey with a guy with a prosthetic leg... One time we convinced him to pop it out and fold it up after getting hit. It was hilarious.

 

I'm 23 now!

 

All the kiddies are done asking for candy, and are probably home either asleep or in a sugar induced coma. Now time for the teens without costumes, the lazy fucks.

 

Kinda feel like going out in the rainy dark and doing some kind of fucked up thing. I miss skullduggery.

Good thing I'm lazy. Good for everyone else, that is.

 

Long day at work and am ready to go to bed...

 

the only thing I despise more than children, bratty children who demand to get a different kind of candy. gave the parents a look that could whither a redwood tree and they just giggle and do the whole "isn't she just adorable"

 

I'd be happy even for that right now ;3;

 

Not as fun as you'd think.

 

This is the reason I have an issue with every main US Holiday. Hallow's Eve, once a simple thing about dressing up as monsters to ward off bad spirits, is now about candy and pop culture costumes. Christmas, once a "Chrisitan holiday" (and actually ORIGIANALLY called Yule, a pagan holiday roughly similar in purpose to Thanksgiving), is now about AAA video game releases and the latest whatever companies want you to buy. Thanksgiving was once about being thankful you weren't going to die that winter from starvation, but now it's about trying to eat until you die from health issues. Easter, was a Christian holiday, now about candy. Valentines Day, once about showing affection, is now about candy and cards if you're a kid, and "proving" affection by purchasing the most expensive jewelery as an adult. Labor Day, I forget, it's now about selling cars. Veterans Day, a day about respecting the people who fought for you and lived, now about cars. Memorial Day, about respecting the people who fought for you AND DIED, now about cars.

Need I continue? Thanks Capitalism.

In other news, if I lived in an area with trick or treaters, and had the materials......I'd build a short, round skeleton with one glowing blue eye, a jacket+slippers+shorts, and a sign that reads "it's a beautiful day outside. flowers are blooming, birds are singing... on days like these, kids like you...".

 

Holidays aren't so horrible as all that. Just keep your head about you and don't do things you don't like. I pick and choose whatever makes me happiest for that stuff.

 

and if it were any other system than capitalism the holidays would likely become about glorifying the victory/power of the fatherland/party/great leader. crafty scheming people always find a way to make things work for themselves
