Or be like me...and ignore the media when it comes to holidays and appreciate what they mean to you and celebrate it how you want and maybe in the traditional way.

Cuz society can shove a candy cane up their ass if it thinks it can ruin my holiday.

nail headers and nails. couldn't drill the holes straight, no sharp bits in the shop and the drill press is borked. managed to get them drifted out pretty good. all the nail heads are pretty much off center and borked. but at least they'll look good on my project

 

You know what I love? When people who haven't been around long enough to remember the non-capitalist version of a holiday complain about how capitalist it has become.

Also, Valentine's day has been about buying flowers and candy since the 18th century. And how else are you supposed to celebrate not starving than stuffing your face? Like, it's a "fuck you" to starvation.

As for Halloween, I'm not gonna dress up to satisfy ghosts that I don't believe in. I'm gonna dress up because people who dress up get free candy and it's the one day of the year you get to look in your neighbor's house without getting the cops called on you. Also free candy.

Alright, so because we aren't going to die this winter of starvation, let's kill ourselves via obesity while throwing money at the companies who encourage us to do so. Good idea! (AKA thanks for completely missing what I was saying, Murphy)

Holidays for me are just days where I can get together with friends and/or family, and enjoy their company. Strengthen bonds and all that shit.

Halloween however... all about costumed debauchery and general good times.

 

I kinda hate holidays now. I mean, not the day itself, but the days leading to them. I have reason to believe retail is to blame for that one lol.

Yeah. I lucked out though. I work in a dollar store, so black Friday isn't much of an issue, but Christmas season is hell lol. For a dollar store where literally everything is a dollar, and sales to top half a million dollars In one month.... I cry T--T this would make my 11th time going through that lol.

 

I think I'm just going to stick to making Tamales and sipping hot beverages for my winter celebrations.

Just staying in and playing GW2, then doing my engineering homework. It's not too involved this time, which is nice. The thing I really don't want to do is the mineralogy take home test. Ugh.

 

holy shit, I found someone selling hand forged nails online 3 for $10 and they're shittier than the ones I banged out. I may have found another way to make some extra cash
