I can't help myself, it makes me feel pretty!!

 

Today I got myself a Hoopa (and another) for Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Y respectively by turning on my phone's wifi hotspot, turning off the security, and renaming it "McDonalds Free WiFi" and I've been trying for two days. But guess what I kept screwing up? the capital F in WiFi.

Anyways, if you have a Gen VI game and want to get a pokemon that can only be obtained by special distributions, I recommend you do it this way. Americans can just go into a McDonalds but in Canada, this is all we can do.

I got just the Manga Studio for $15. -w- Still need to download it once my data cap resents though.

This.....this whole thing with "Limited Edition Pokemon" that are impossible to get if you didn't attend some promotional event or rush to some sponsor's store that you may or may not hate IF it's even in your city/state/country, is why I'm done with Pokemon past Dia/Pea/Plat.

I'll wait for the 3D, PC based, true open world with quests and proper NPC interactions Pokemon game that doesn't REQUIRE you to beat and then decline the Champion and then 100% your Pokedex, or get DMCAed for being 3rd Party freeware because Nintendo won't make it. Which of course will likely not happen unless the dev team is able to be what I term "shadow devs" by not fully identifying themselves and releasing their project and updates through wide, associated distribution such as players file sharing it.

 

It's not as bad as you make it sound, for important releases they do international internet distributions. That's how everybody got access to Deoxys, Mew, Arceus, Keldeo, Shiny Dialga/Palkia/Giratina/Entei/Suicune/Raikou, Darkrai, Diancie, among a bunch of others. The only things distributed exclusively at certain events were pokemon like victini (From Walmart I believe) and Shaymin / Manaphy (distributions were limited in time for two of the mystery dungeon games around a decade ago, no distributions since that I'm aware of.)

 

You can certainly tell it is Christmas buying time is now here. The 1st of December is and people are already rushing around.
Sold so much today it was unreal and it's only the first.

I'm at work but you see me here lol.

I can't use Skype on my phone as it tried to merge the contacts with my phone contacts.

 

And what if you didn't have the game or handheld unit for it yet, either because you're budgeting (like myself) or live somewhere where it's hard to get (other have this)? As I understand, it's still a case of "If you weren't there, you're SOL". I'm not playing that marketing game with them.

 

I still don't think of it like that, the game recognizes a completed pokedex without event exclusive pokemon, which is nice, they're allowing you to get the in-game benefits of collecting them all without worrying about the ones they've made difficult. Plus, every new generation actually distributes those difficult ones in the game somewhere which is really nice too!
