So sorry for the terrible news, lots of us here have experienced loss so I thibk you should find us pretty understanding of some of what you're going through. As for giving him the truth, its a luxury many of us can't afford, don't let that make you fail to appreciate all the good in your memory of him. He didn't have to know everything about you to have meaningful impacts on you. Hopefully that was a good relationship even if some things were never said.

This absolutely doesn't belong here, but creating a "Slightly Peeved" thread is a waste of cyberspace.

I lost the bottle of nail polish I just bought YESTERDAY. The damn thing was only like 1.08 but I'm mad that I LOST SOMETHING. It absolutely infuriates me to lose things no matter how small.

I can't get a good rest apparently, which results in being sleepy for the whole day and wanting to sleep all the time.
Being waken up at 4AM by a cat that walks up on your head and starts to purr loud as hell doesn't help either :p Also it's really cold so getting out of bed where it's warm and nice is even harder.

Rob, don't worry too much about how you "should" feel. People feel how they feel, there's not really any shoulds about it. Holding your personal feelings to the standards of others is only going to drive you crazy.

And now for my own post. I got up at midnight to use the washroom, came back to find my cat had pissed in my bed. This is not the first time, probably going on ten at this point. Got mad, shoved him in it, regretted it and gave him a bath while I soaked some heavily soaped water into the pee spot.

I don't know what the hell to do with him at this point. He's a great cat, but this can't keep happening, especially when I get a job and have to maintain an actual sleep schedule. It fucking sucks because I raised him from when he was a kitten, but if this keeps going I might have to give him away or something.

I really hate cats and this is part of why.
We had a cat back home who was a rescue, ask he ever did was try to get outside. We'd let him out after meowing and scratching the door for days and days, and after he'd piss on clothes or beds we hoped he wouldn't come back. Once my girlfriend left my bed to go to the bathroom and when she came back she forgot to close my bedroom door. In the four seconds it took her to cross my room and crawl into my arms the cat had run in, pissed all over her clothes on the floor, and run out. I threw him out the door where he wanted to be and after that he only came back one more time before disappearing for good. I really hate cats, I've had so few positive relationships with them, the one Poster and I live with now is a real dick as well, nearly impossible to pet or enjoy. All he does is bite and scratch and at this point I'm wondering what we keep him around for. The landlord has rats that would be much happier without the cat around and we can all enjoy them.

Can I ever relate...I had a cat growing up that was always irritable and grumpy not to mention boring. Of course the other ones I met make up for it. I knew a really friendly orange tabby that just wanted so much attention to the point it would follow me home at which point I nicknamed it marmalade. I knew another cat that belonged to a friend by the name of pickles and that one was annoying as well but amusingly so.

Thank you all for the support. I don't know how to handle this. I want to cry, bury my head. Scream till I pass out. Try to be there for my mom
All my plans are on hold till my mom is okay. I am afraid that she will kill herself if left alone for too long.

@Robert Thompson No point in feeling bad about your level of grief. How people feel about you when you die is up to you. Don't be upset at yourself for how you feel. Just take it as an example, and do what you can from this point on to make people sad as shit when you're gone. :)

I'm largely the opposite in terms of cat experiences. I can only recall ever living with one bad cat, and it wasn't ours.

I'm the same way. I live with @Exeter, and I find the house cat we have to be a dick, but not so much malicious as over playful, and I actually experience some of his more affectionate moments. I also have lived with great cats through my life!

There was a mass shooting 5 minutes from my boyfreinds house. 14 people dead and 17 wounded. He is okay but he is very shaken up so much that he cant stop crying. They havent released names yet but he fears that someone he knows might be dead. I feel bad because i cant even begin to imagine what that feels like, so im giving him my undivided attention for the next few days and especially tonight...

I just heard about it! that's so crazy, I can't even begin to imagine how people deal with the constant shootings and violence. Stay strong with/for him and keep helping him through it. :(

I've hardly been on lately, and didn't hear the news til now... I'm so sorry Robert :(. As for your feelings, don't worry about them. Just accept them how they are. Nothing needs to be forced.

Try and be there for your mother; just be around when you can.

In California? I just read about that this morning. That's so crazy. Apparently the couple involved (that were killed) also had a kid... the hell is going to happen to them?

On the cat topic. Well... I love cats. That's probably not a surprise. Cats might be the reason I'm not a sociopath. I grew up with so many great cats. They rarely left messes around the house. They were clean. I tended to give them the most attention, so they naturally followed me around, and kept me company. Most were incredibly cuddly and affectionate. Often curling up on my lap, or nearby, while I worked on homework / read / played games. Most would sleep in my bed. Even the "worst" ones: The incredibly nervous runt, and the grumpy stray, would drop their guard around me, and chill. I was incredibly lucky to have those cats.

@Xephose is that cat fixed? All of my cats were spayed/neutered, which sometimes cuts down on the spraying behavior.

    Oh, my god.

So the wall bracket that I bought to mount my TV has a crossbar that you have to screw into the studs in the wall, so I went out to get a studfinder, cause I really wanna do this right. After about twenty minutes of studfinding, I pick up the crossbar...

And it's shorter than the distance between two studs.

    I've never felt so betrayed.

Eugh, woke up this morning with another episode of
which is basically when everything is unbearably loud. It is associated with tinnitus, which I also have.

It usually goes away with a nap, but not this time, and I'm getting a really bad headache from it.
