You've kinda missed a lot of the point of the Star Wars movies but I see where you're coming from. Don't forget the original movies were filled with clever homages to flash gordon and kurosawa films and all the classic hero stories and tragedies of the silver screen. They don't come from a time of golden heroes, they're made as a tribute to the time of golden heroes. I'd say George's intent to capture that spirit is probably better served by this movie having a great lead hero to cheer for and believe in against all odds than ANYTHING that came out of the prequels. That's, for me, one of the biggest reasons TFA feels like a return to form, it brings back the magic of the force, it feels like a real adventure, and the heroes are right out of old serials: a badass wisecracking pilot, a kid soldier with a heart of gold, and a young hero who discover power she never knew she had.

Well, I'm sorry to say it's not really my cup of tea. The shininess is blinding to me, I'd rather keep my eyes fixed on reality as it is, and the future I hope for it to become.

I can't wait for the Deadpool movie. That second Red Band trailer was a great Xmas present. Blind Al, Negasonic Teenage Warhead (that is like the coolest code name ever), and even Marrow makes an appearance.

Deadpool in the comics, and as a non-primary character in the various games he's starred in, is gold. The Deadpool game....was just....too much, it was hilariously random at first, true to his image, but quickly burned out it's supply of humor with only a few second winds later on in my opinion. I think a lot of his comic appeal stemmed from the fact that in most of the media he was in, he was NOT the primary character, but gave it the right amount of "WTF?!" at the right moment to keep it interesting.

I actually kind of dread the Deadpool movie if it's going to be more of the same. Too much of a good thing, you know?

to be completely honest I liked the star wars: the clone wars cartoon series more than any of the movies since there were a lot more characters and settings rather than a few quick glimpses of one or two planets and then a bunch of face cam shots of fighter pilots. I did like the big [spoiler thingy] stuck in the [spoiler ground covering] on [spoiler planet] in nostalgia circle-jerk, but a lot of it... meh...

    on another note,

    so it begins...

It was a very good cartoon in my opinion, forced to finish before it was ready. (Or was it outright cut? I forgot...)

Kinda mad that my course account is telling me a class number is invalid, so I can't swap a course I find out I don't need for one I do....and the people who can actually do it aren't even in the student affairs office.

You can't make me not love the new movie lol.

See why can't more people take this route when it comes to the movie and the franchise?
Nowadays people are so eager to pick apart a movie and attack the potential loopholes/plot holes thus leading to arguments both online and off.
I for one loved the new movie and no one can change my opinion of it.

Happy New Years Eve. I'm working so I can't go to the semi-close fur party nearby. :(

WHEN, in fact, episodes 1-3 had several holes in it that were not consistent with episodes 4-6.

Doesn't nearly every reboot/revival of a franchise or series? For me it's a matter of how much exposure I had to the original material, what the original material was like, and whether or not it tried to stay true to the original or take a new spin (and how well it did so). It's very tricky and case by case, so long as it doesn't wind up being A:TLB Movie.....apparently even people who had never seen the original cartoon hated it.

I'm slightly worried that my car appears to have dumped all its water somewhere since I checked last week, and I have no idea where it's all gone. I can't see any leaks anywhere, and there's no puddles underneath either.

Edit: And as a result, the heater is no longer working, so the windows keep fogging and there isn't a damn thing I can do about it. Also the alternator is fucked. This shit wouldn't happen if my dad would listen to me.

Everyone should fly/drive down to Florida and meet me and some of my friends at the beach. We're building a sandcastle, rigging it with different types of fireworks, and setting it off once the clock strikes midnight.

Just putting the offer out. Back to work for me
