I will take being in the same category as those two attractions as a major compliment.

 

I've always feared essays. Having to find information, list the sources, then write to the information.

I just realized, maybe I'm going about it wrong. Perhaps I could simply do some minimal research on the topic, so that I know the gist, write an essay completely out of my own head, then go back and find sources for all the information, changing anything I got wrong or couldn't substantiate?

 

I am so done with today... Woke up with a foot I can barely walk on that just hurt more and more as the day progressed. And event I wanted to go to sold out before I could get the day off. No hope for tomorrow either as I'll be stuck at work wanting to stab the absolute idiots that will call in. If my foot still hurts in the morning, I'll have to drag myself out of bed early so I can go see someone about it. This issue better not last into the weekend, I have plans.

Started talking to this guy from the BD forum. Nothing sexual, just talked a lot about hobbies and interests and all that and it was really fun. lol he hasn't messaged me back though, so I guess he didn't enjoy it as much as I did....I always worry I'm annoying or too talkative so I scare people away. *shrugs* Oh wellllll

 

looking forward to doing some foundry work in sculpture but not looking forward to buying the silcon-bronze for it since the metal supplier close by (as in the only one within about 200 miles) sells it for around $8.50 a pound, $6.50 a pound student discount, so even if my pieces only come out to a final weight of less than 3 pounds the cup, sprue, gates and vents are going to take at least 10 pounds or more so I'm looking at at least a 20 pound ingot for $130 and I'll need more bronze for the next foundry project. but at least my waxes are looking damned good

people tend to assume being a sculpture major is cheap and easy, they're completely fucking wrong XD I have more stuff to do now than ever before, tomorrow I'll likely have to go into the ceramics studio from around 9 to midnight to get a jump on the class assignment so that I have more time to work on a sculpture due in less than 3 weeks that's going to require a lot of forging, twisting and bending, a lot of which I'll likely need someone else's help to wrangle huge hot pieces of steel all while having to finish refining and chasing my waxes for the foundry stuff to get them ready for investment and casting over the next few weeks while also trying to balance it with 2 printmaking classes which will likely require working after hours as well since you're supposed to turn in an edition of 10 identical prints for grading, which may require printing 15 to 20 copies before you get 10 that are passable and consistent.

I'm also not looking forward to the second half of the semester since my art history professor is going to have us do a research project and presentation instead of more lectures and we can't use any internet sources for information, it has to all be books from the library, which is going to be a bitch. funny that studio art majors have to take art history classes but art historians don't have to take studio art classes, no wonder they get a lot of their information wrong

 

With all the conflicting reports I've heard from folks about Weasyl (Tumblr-like userbase versus quiet with little of anything going on, UI is bad versus UI is good) and Inkbunny (nothing but "THOSE" people versus people who are more likely to just move on than attack others over kinks), I've actually heard next to nothing about SoFurry.

From what you're saying, it's basically no better than FA? The little I have heard about it, it's supposedly better than FA in regards to UI and the quality of the uploaded file versus the original.

Likewise with worrying that I scare people away. But I have paranoia as an excuse for that

 

Its just really clunky imo and not as focused on art as much as it is writing. Artists that may have 25k Watchers on FA may have only 4k Watchers on SF. Maybe you'll like it if you try it, but after years of coming and going, I just never learned to like it

 

Fell asleep early last night after Berit purposely ended our skype call so I would go clean out instead of... falling asleep. So I woke up early to clean out, toyed all afternoon, and immediately took a nap when I was finished. Woke up to find Poster wasn't home, had left his phone, and no evidence of where he went. Also woke up to find my friend, the serial plan canceller, had cancelled our plans. So I ordered a monster burrito from a new place, watched interstellar with Berit over Skype, and spent the rest of the night sharing music with her while she managed to look both incredibly sexy and incredibly sleepy at the same time.

When I get any of the above its a DEAD giveaway they either didn't respect me enough to read my profile or didn't respect my preferences and messaged anyway. Irritating.

 

Grindr is the exact same experience. People are just really bad at connecting.

 

And it's this terribly sad fact that is a major reason why I'm extremely disappointed with today's generation. A majority of people in this day and age don't know how to talk to other people with any shred of respect. Despite it being this great technological age we have lost a vast amount of humanity when it comes to human interactions. That's why if/when I ever have kids I'm going to teach them that technology is not the end-all-be-all. I will take them outside more often than keeping them indoors and teach them that interacting with others is a vital skill to know and to not rely so heavily on technology.
Looking at myself I've realized that my human interaction skills are not the greatest and I will be working on trying to better myself in that respect.
