I'm now picturing the Uncanny Valley Effect as a 3D canyon instead of a valley in a graph, with all the directions something can go with it's design and what effect it has being represented by the different directions and depths of the canyon......apparently cat ears tug it in a different direction of "Human" but also a bit further up and out of the canyon.....

You know, this needs to be researched in a study.

 

I am feeling abaolutely like a zombie today. My brain just refuses to work, and senses are in deep sleep mode still.

Lack of sleep and low pressure might be the cause.

 

Today is going to be an odd sort of day.
Got a few things to do and then after today I start actual training for the new job.
Very much excited for that.
I'm not looking forward to having to change the water filter AGAIN, there's apparently so much shit in our well that the our filters need to be changed consistently...ugh.

 

God, this made me so happy.

 

In no particular order...
1. Sleipnir is out for delivery. Yay!
2. Dreading having to update my resumé and search for jobs. God, it can be so frustrating and discouraging. But I need to get a part-time job again. Although, my full-time pays well and has opportunity for advancement, I've only been there since October and I need some extra in the meantime for myriad reasons.
3. A certain someone who's been on my mind kind of all the time over the past week. It's bittersweet.

@scalie If anything, the person who got pissy with you was the one having an SJW power fantasy. Bonus points for literal fantasy, as said person was probably out of touch with reality at the time if they thought anyone should be moving one of those things by themselves.

 

Meh, who needs stitches. I almost cut my left thumb to the bone with a shitty bread knife right at the first joint on the palm side. Like you I sort of had a precog thought while I was trying to cut the day old bread. Like an image of me cutting myself flashed into my head. But I kept sawing away and sure enough it went sideways right into my thumb. Hurt like hell, but the copious bleeding is what I was focused on. I was determined not to have to go to the ER, especially since at the time I didn't have insurance. I fashioned a tourniquet of two rubber bands wrapped tightly above and below the wound.

Cleaned it, bandaged it. Throbbing pain and an ugly bruised looking thumb for a few days. Now, though you can barely see the scar.

 

Sometimes when i have important errands, meetings, etc. Ill choose not to, just to remind myself i can. Its something people always seem to forget, that you can choose not to.

I would have been totally unable to stop myself, from rubbing their noses in it. I mean a lithography stone of all things!.........I know very well, how delicate and heavy those things are, so I would have lent my help as well.

 

These paranormal shows are so scripted it hurts.

 

Just found out that my dog has cancer...

He's having surgery to remove the tumor on march 22nd, and from there we can figure out the next steps.

 

Hope your pup gives em hell.

ever had to lean your whole torso into a 1600+ *F kiln? not very fun, and anywhere the protective suit doesn't cover you starts to get singed almost immediately, but at least I got my bronze pieces cast today

Trying to wrap my head around how someone managed to get something to spin up to 130,000 RPM and not have it fly apart.

I'm wondering how strong the forces are on the impeller in a supercharger that spools up to that speed. I also am wondering if the metal stretches outward and if so by how much.
