Grown adults don't need validation from everyone around them, or from anyone when it comes to personal matters. If you need the approval of others for your relationship, is your relationship all that strong?

 

Very true - though seeking approval and saying that you're happy aren't necessarily the same thing. Sometimes it's just telling the other person what's going on in your life at that moment.

 

Maybe I've been single for too long, but I don't see what the big deal is about a relationship.

 

A-fricken-men. An update shouldn't make somebody shut down. Will they have a breakdown and ignore me if I mention donald trump has millions of dollars? All I was looking for was a "Man, I'm happy for you, that sounds great." That's the appropriate response.

 

Reading some political comments was a bad idea. I just can't believe there are so many people who seriously think that Trump is a good person and would make a good president. What sort of fucked up mindset must you have knowing everything he has done, stands for and intends to do, and go "yep, he's the savior we need!"? And I'm seeing so many of his supporters spouting shit like "you just don't like that someone has the balls to say the truth", "you're just jumping on the hate bandwagon because everyone else is" and "if you really understood his views, you would be supporting him".

I seriously cannot put the level of despair I have into words. This is why I have no faith in humanity.

 

There are no good candidates. No. Not even Bernie, who, when he's knocked out of the race will be backing Hillary and is loyal to the party, not the people.

If coworkers found out about it somehow I'd be in deep shit...where I work if you aren't straight, normal, etc, that's a big problem.

 

There never is, however from most standpoints, he was the best candidate America has had in recent memory, assuming he would have acted upon his statements.

I don't want to get into a political discussion, but Trump is by far the worst candidate in literally every aspect, period. He is, hands down, the worse possible choice by every measurable degree. The shit he's done and said should be an embarrassment to high school debate levels, let alone fucking presidential candidacy. The fact that he now has a very real chance of becoming president is terrifying on multiple levels, not least of all that a large percentage of Americans actually want this moron to lead their country and represent them to the world. I'm not necessarily disappointed at Sanders not doing as well as hoped, moreso that the potentials have been narrowed down to an asshat with the mind of a child and a secretive liar who flip-flops with majority opinion.

The ONE time I thought I could have even a little faith that people would make a sensible choice. Hell, I know things are fucked up when I'm agreeing with fucking Mitt Romney.

He's not worse than Hillary. Equally bad I'll give you, but Mrs. "women are the primary victims of war" Clinton is in no way better than Trump.

 

I don't think he will. I think he'll say "I don't like it, but I'll be voting for her" because, he will. But he actually doesn't have much loyalty to the democratic party. He's a self-declared socialist, and only ran democrat because he's a realist who knows it's the only real option he had if he actually wanted a chance at winning.

 

Is it bad that I was more comfortable with the idea of him as president than I am with Hillary taking the primaries? At least you could TELL when he was saying what was politically convenient. He wasn't a good liar, and I kind of respected that.

 

Grrrrrr... Artist myself and a friend were commissioning went ahead and finished the piece before getting final approval from us both.

I'm conflicted whether I should just accept the image as-is, or complain, because there was at least one change I had wanted, and I haven't gotten around to bringing up...

 

My relationship with my mum feels so goddamn estranged. I live with her, and I am constantly irritated with her and whenever we talk she either is just waiting for a gap to talk about herself/ make it about her, or she's a total (excuse me for sounding like a brooding teenager here) fucking bitch.
She doesn't watch her tone, and I can't seem to have a level conversation with her, ever.
And I've tried talking about it to her but even after all these years she still doesn't understand the way I speak and just lashes out at me.

I feel so fucken angry even when I look at her, almost like I know if I talk to her im going to be met with an unpleasant response, but I still do it. And I hate feeling this sickening anger but it does not evade me.

 

I'm absolutely LIVID right now......that piece of shit temp agency I worked for FIRED me on Wednesday, over the phone no less. Over a technicality! They have a ridiculous "points" system that penalizes you for calling out sick (with an equally stupid sick leave policy), leaving early for ANY reason (including family emergencies, ffs), clocking in late (that is the only reasonable one) and yes....clocking in ONE minute late from lunch. One minute because there is a huge line to get to the time clock, and there is a huge line because they hired way too many extra workers. Add that to the fact that they never once did they explain to anyone that clocking in even one minute late gave points....and no grace period! From their own fucking mouths, they said I was a great worker, fast, efficient, with an actual work ethic, and they even gave me a promotion AND a raise after only four months. And THIS is how they repay me.
Fuck everything.
I'm especially pissed right now because I found these vintage card/stickers of Echo and the Bunnymen from 1984 in gorgeous condition and only $2 each and only ONE of Will left and.....ugggggghhh!!!!
And I can't justify anything that isn't bills and gas til I find another job.

 

With a system so petty, arbitrary, and impersonal, sounds like you're better off finding a job with a reasonable organization instead. That's so shitty, but honestly, sounds like this probably happens to a lot of people.

 

Having worked for temp agencies for years, I am not surprised in the slightest. They hold their workers to ridiculously high standards but also treat them like absolute shit. I never want to work for a temp agency again if I can. Best of luck finding somewhere else.

 

That sounds like my job. I don't know what the temps deal with but the company's policies are almost as petty as that. The whole clocking in late from break thing is such bull, especially since they changed the way we have to clock in/out and it takes longer now. So either you cut your break short or end up getting in trouble and having your pay docked for the lateness. I'm grateful to have a job. The pay and benefits are pretty good, but there's a lot of petty nonsense and a lack of accountability in other departments that directly affects my specific job duties and many other things. Corporations are the devil.
