What Is On Your Mind?

Went over to one of the local theaters to help someone I know build a set for an upcoming play. Got hired as assistant stage director. Past couple days have really been good.

Now to get some sleep for the auto show tomorrow, then the renaissance festival.

 

I'd definitely go back to the stage (or rather, behind the scenes of the stage) if there was a theater (or even dinner theater) near me. My senior year of High School I worked a movable spot light for the play we did.

 

Visit lovely Texas. It's Mexico without the Cartels and Coca-Cola plants!

 

I should probably get a passport.

I have, a number of times over the years (about two visits a year for the past 3, 4, 5 years). Just last month I was down there as a really late birthday present. Will likely be going down in July for my brothers birthday as well, then hopefully again in December for my birthday this year. I go to Austin. That's where my mom, aunt, cousin, and now brother live. Love it down there. Weather is lovely, for the most part, and I actually love the food (I'm like the opposite of a foodie). If I could, I'd move down there.

 

Considering I'm part Puerto Rican, Cuba may not be the best place for me to go.

Well congratulations. I really want out as I dislike the almost year round heat and suffocating summer; I suppose my little escapade into Denver last year intensified my distaste for the Lone Star State.

 

You could come up here to Virginia where we have all four seasons in two days.

 

Yep. Winter right now with temps in the high 30s. Can't wait for spring on Monday, temps in high 60s.

Its strange though, since I've gotten my tablet I never draw on paper anymore. I'm not even sure if I still can. i'll give it a shot sometime. On another note, call it bison intuition, but I feel like you're going to be a really good artist someday

I am too used to obsessively resizing and turning sections of my sketches until the anatomy is on point. Can't really do that with pencil xD
I've been making myself try sketching in my sketchbook at least a few times a week though so I can build up my skills.

 

So that play I spoke about yesterday, "La del Manojo de Rosas", where I got hired as assistant stage manager simply because I repaired the set pieces. Its a Spanish opera, no clue what its about as I don't speak Spanish. I just know I'm in charge of the curtain and spotlights. Its small, but its something. I've always wanted to get into directing, so I guess this is my foot in the door.

Hockey game was good also. We won with a minute left in overtime.

 

Eh. I hear Virgina is pretty darn conservative...? Not sure where I want to be really, but I can generally call a place I don't think I'd feel at home in.
