I know this is probably a massive ask buuuuuut, does anyone know some cool MMO RPG's that they've played and really enjoyed?
Looking around as I can only really play League of Legends a couple of times before it messes with my head (I'm still new to things so I get shouted at a lot if I do something wrong) and I would like to play something that I can play with by myself as well with friends.

 

Honestly, I can only think of one MMO that can be effectively be played solo, that being The Secret World. The only things you can't do solo (I've heard rumor that people have, but they are few and far in between) is like dungeons and raids, and of course PvP. The main story of the game can be done completely solo. I've done it. Of course, you can play with friends as well, which makes it easier (with the exception of the solo missions). It's a Buy to Play game with optional subscription (can do a month at a time up to a year, and the benefits, such as items, of the membership last after membership ends), you can find Steam sales on it throughout the year, if you use Steam. It doesn't hold your hand though like many MMO's. There's the basic walkthrough/training at the beginning, but once you've been introduced to your faction and sent out into the world, you are on your own. Including building your ability deck, though you can find builds online. You can use all weapons and all abilities are useable. But you can only use two weapons and 14 abilities (7 active, 7 passive) at a time, until you get an Aux Weapon, which adds 2 Aux Weapon ability slot, an active and a passive. It's set in the modern day, where everything is true, monsters, secret societies (you get to be a part of one), hollow earth, everything. The first chapter, for lack of a better word, just finished up. Some time this year they will start the second chapter with Issue 14.

 

I have no idea why I have such trouble with top down games. Was playing league with @Poster Nutbag and I just couldn't get the hang of it.

 

League definitely takes some time to get used to. I really hate the FOV/range of view in it though, it feels really limited.

 

As a side note, if you decide to dive into The Secret World, let me know I can help you out with either my character who has completed the story, or one closer to starter levels.

I forgot to mention that modding is allowed for it, but not required by any means.

 

LoL isn't the easiest game to learn. Especially when you haven't played much of top down games before. And the fact it's quite competitive and skill-based doesn't really help. But as soon as you played a few games, know what playstyle fits you best, you can pick your favourite lane and role and grab a few champions that fit it - it gets a lot easier and more enjoyable after this. It's the first bunch of matches that are the worst

I might play on NA servers as well, with a fresh account though - that is assuming if you and @Poster Nutbag wouldn't mind me playing LoL with you two, and I would actually know you're going to play so I could join in as well I haven't been in a match in a looooong time though, and I wasn't nowhere near pro back when I did play it but I still remember the basics. Seeing as the community can be pretty toxic (I played a good bit on EUNE though, maybe NA is different in this case) it's best to have as much premade people in team as possible so you avoid the rage and toxicity, or at least diminish it.

 

@vahaala Phew I thought I just totally sucked at the game. I was playing as jinx and a few other characters. But I found jinx was the best for me.

As for playing in lol matches sure you can join now and again.

 

Yeah, I'll have to agree, it's difficult to get used to at first and I do find it a lot better with the low levels as it isn't so much screaming at others and more talking/working together (I've had some really polite ones and even conversations with some others). Lv 30 is somewhat the tipping point. Finding champions and roles that work for you is another ball game in it's own. Playing with people that you know is quite hilarious, especially over Skype, since funny situations happen most of the time.

 

Absolutely same lol. I'm pretty terrible with any character other than Jinx. I'm alright with Ahri, but Jinx is my main squeeze.

NP. I believe it normally runs $30, but like I said, you can catch it on sale on Steam from time to time.

 

My 3ds is on the fritz D: I think the joystick thingie got messed up somehow, it just goes crazy and rapidly scrolls through all the icons in a pattern, and it won't stop unless I press down on the joystick pretty hard.

 

I think Nintendo does repair!

 

After letting it charge for a couple hours it seems to have stopped having a stroke, but if it does this again I'm definitely going to look into that!

 

Literally just had a conversation about how they replaced a Wii out of warranty for free when it was the customer's fault. Go for it!

 

Holy shit, I just saw the Illaoi spotlight and Project:Overdrive trailer for LoL. I'm tempted to start playing again, very tempted.
