My parents are hardcore conspiracy theorists. They believe (through the cultish scaremongering that is alternative media) that LGBT people, trans people especially, are being "promoted" in society (celebrities coming out, politicians bringing up LGBT subjects, more media attention, etc...) to scapegoat them and make the other parts jealous of the attention we're getting and/or dislike the "special" treatment. This is apparently part (one of many) of a grand scheme to turn society against itself, this particular way being to cause friction between LGBT and "normal" people, for the ultimate purpose of easy populace control, yadda yadda.

These same people are convinced and have convinced other people that breaking down the gender binary, school sex education for children (involving discussions about gay people, trans people and anal sex), extensive chemical tampering/experimentation and general mental manipulation of certain people leads to "making" people gay, bi and trans, leading to an "extremely unusual" increase in the LGBT population (and thereby pedophilia) compared to any other point in history. They deny that increasingly open sources of information and a massively reduced stigma of these kinds of things in recent history is the cause, and is a silly argument.

I am not exaggerating in the slightest or making a single word of this up.

 

With any luck, Hulk Hogan (Terry Bolea, not sure on the spelling of his last name) will win his lawsuit and bankrupt that cesspool known as Gawker Media, of which Jezebel is a part of.

 

while I think that just about all of that is completely fucking insane, I do think that because LGBT and trans issues have become very popular within younger demographics that there is some peer pressure within certain communities to come out as certain things. basically using identity or sexuality as a popularity tool, kind of like how there were way more goth and emo kids a few years ago that suddenly vanished and are now coming out as demi-skolio-sexual toaster-deer kin on tumblr

 

Hey all.
So I managed to survive a 66 hour work week...and boy is my body feeling it.
I got cuts and bruises in places that I didn't expect and my body is a whole new level of sore.
Thankfully I have today and tomorrow off to rest and catch up on some things.

In other news, here's the offical 1st Edition (1st physical copy) of my mother's book.
I feel extremely honored to have this in my possession. She even dedicated the book to me and her close friend (who also happens to be a writer).
Unfortunately they kinda screwed up and forgot to add the table of contents so hopefully they'll get that print up soon.

Not many people outside of Tumblr and pretty much nobody outside the internet cares about those though. Most of them gain some sense in their late teens and early adulthood anyway, and the ones who don't are largely ignored. I'm fairly certain that that very young, trend-led demographic is only a small part of the overall picture anyway. But nooo, apparently it's more believable that Barrack Obama is gay and Michelle Obama is trans and are a hidden spearhead for the gay agenda. Did I ever mention that most of the people in these alternative media groups are devoutly religious and/or borderline neo-nazi?

It's really disappointing and upsetting seeing my parents dragged into their delusional bullshit. If they didn't know I was trans, I have no doubt that I'd be hearing even more transphobic, homophobic and sexist shit from them than I already do.

It's technically already on sale, however I believe the publisher pulled the book for edits because they fucked up and forgot to put in the table of contents. The kindle version is still available on Amazon however the paperback version is being revised.

Just sitting here working on a map figure for my study sites in my thesis proposal, and it hits me - I'm good at making figures because of all those hours I spent using this program to recolor WoW porn. XD

 

Decided to pursue another major. Originally it was aeronautical science, then I started working on biomedical engineering, then law, and now architectural engineering.
