I like the idea of planning it around a con, however con passes add additional expense on top of travel and lodging and food. But if we did just the house thing and it didn't involve a con, what would we do? These sorts of ideas always make me excited, but then there's the inevitable logistics nightmare.

 

It's something that would take a TON of planning and financial discussion.

No offense but you've kinda managed to come across as the person who doesn't understand how two applications in the same market can do it better, worse, or differently, at least to me.

As for all this talk about a huge DH meetup, hate to be a downer but that's something that you'd need major planning ahead for so as many folk interested can fit it into their schedule as possible; then understand many for some reason cannot afford the time, schedule, or money for it regardless due to how spread out we all are.

I really wish it could happen, I'd do all I sanely could to attend and help others attend, but reality is a bitch sometimes. Which is one reason I both look forward to advanced VR and fear how it will wreak havoc without proper regulation and safeguards....

It'd be a long flight for some of us if there was a DH meet, as most of us are either in the northern U.S., or overseas.

I'd be interested in organizing it though. Not attending as my schedule keeps me pretty busy here in my city, but if I can help others meet I'm all for it.

I want to official bust out crying. I was just working on my Don't Starve character mod and my PC died. It just fucking died on me. My work didn't get saved either. Only half of it.

I really would love to help you get a better PC or fix it somehow so you don't have to deal with it's bullshit. But unless it's doing something different this time I'd still bet on faulty PSU, as we talked last time about that. Sadly I can't really do much remotely.

Had a lovely phone conversation with my dear friend from college last night.
It was great to hear from her again as she's planning on coming up to visit me this week.
Also I keep forgetting that my birthday is coming up soon, totally gonna call out for that because damn it I worked my birthday last year, not doing it this year.

 

Anyone here familiar with working Ubuntu and WINE, hit me up please. Though be advised anything that requires a lot of active reading from/writing to disk is gonna be a bitch because my hard drive is currently a 32GB USB and my actual 500GB HDD is now effectively just an expansion drive because either my mobo/BIOS or Windowstains is loopy.

I at least hope I can limp along with SL for a friend of mine, preferably also spend time with them on the copy of Killing Floor or Space Engineers I gifted them.
