from what I understand it's 3D printed silicone with multiple air chambers that can be filled sequentially using solenoid switch valves. now if you could control it using a heated liquid it would make it more "lifelike"

 

Air is an easier option because of the quickness it can be expelled and refilled unlike that of water.

I for one would not want that. I get your point I guess for folks that have social interaction issues, but no matter how lonely I get, I would never want a sex doll, least of all a realistic one. if it would have fully functional AI and you at least had to build a relationship with it (with a bit of a handicap for the extremely awkward) then yes, if it can learn and apply information it records to reach new conclusions and infer behavior (basically being another thinking thing like a person) then it isn't so creepy

 

I'm always weary about "smart" AI. If I had a sexbot with fully functional AI, it would have to be with "dumb" AI.

Edit: For clarification

"Smart" AIs are capable of intuition, learning, and making logical leaps that ordinary computer programs cannot. They can also "feel" genuine emotions, such as affection, anger, and amusement. They have a normal operational life span, after which they descend into rampancy.

"Dumb" AIs cannot learn anything that is outside of their set limits of dynamic memory processing matrix. They are quite useful in their particular field of expertise, but very limited. "Dumb" AIs can function and learn as long as they are active.

 

Somehow I'm not surprised.

I honestly love the idea of AI with the CAPACITY for acquiring human-level intelligence. I just hope it meets decent folks for it's first experiences and that they explain to it that not everyone is such great company. Idiots, assholes, and power hungry types are almost always the origin of every human-caused catastrophe. When it's not an accident.

 

like the Tay.ai debacle, although that does raise an ethical issue of if you eventually create another thinking entity that can learn and function just like a human would what happens when an AI does inevitably make choices for itself that people don't agree with, like becoming a neo-nazi or believing in a cult, or deciding it can't do the job it was created for because it's not ethical to carry out the directive. that also brings with it an issue where if you have even one smart AI you'll have to do away with dumb AIs because a smart AI may be able to resist being taken over by another smart AI where a dumb AI wouldn't be able to adapt its responses effectively to prevent it

Well thanks to tumblr I've found the textbook term that goes with something I've discovered about myself.
Maybe I'm crazy, but I think I might be mildly autosexual (defined as having a sexual attraction towards oneself). I've noticed I enjoy checking out my goodies in full length mirrors and getting the urge to feel myself up. I can also say with utmost seriousness that if I was capable of generating copies of myself I would definitely do myself (selfcest??). Is that weird?

 

basically microsoft created a twitter chat bot with limited AI and in in less than 24 hours of being online it went from sounding like the average teenage girl posting in slang and ebonics to a full blown shit posting neo-nazi with surprisingly good grammar. to then cover their asses to mitigate as much fallout as possible they basically erased the AI portion of it and gave it basic responses to give to questions, primarily "I'm a good person" and "I'm a feminist now" whenvere asked about the stuff it said before
