hmmm, how to tell a friend who wants nothing more than to become a writer that they're actually pretty shit at coming up with a plot, their vocabulary in their work looks like the kind of shit a highschool student writes when they overuse a thesaurus and they use the really weird offhand terms for things instead of the more common ones that almost everyone knows because they "want to be original in their work"
and this is why I hate proofreading for people, because if you're brutally honest with people they fucking bitch about it, but all they expect you to do is keep kissing their ass and acting like everything they shit out is gold

I hope things work out. If not, fun while it lasted? It's hard to get most traditional people to understand the poly life. I personally wouldn't mind a relationship like that, but I know that it is not ...viable in certain areas for one reason or another. At the moment though..I am currently among the single crowd.

Just tell them the truth in a constructive way. It should be about helping. Sure they'll be embarrassed. But make it about what they need to improve. If your review is for an audience, write it like you wrote this ^. If it's just for them, write it in a way that would be helpful to you, or somebody more sensitive, I suspect you appreciate brevity.

I don't like it when I ask others for critique of my work and instead of just saying "change X, and maybe think of how you can improve Y by doing Z" they instead spend several minutes insulating everything, like "well I liked X, but I think it could be changed, though if you like it that's fine, but maybe try Y, but then again if you like X stay with it, though it could be better, but it's alright if you want to keep it" just rip the bandaid off, be direct and focused instead of trying to cover your own ass to not possibly look like an asshole. Don't take 3 pages to tell me what can take 2 sentences.
unfortunately the person I'm proofreading for is a bit of a crystal teacup with low self esteem, very very delicate, but their work is absolute horrendous shit, even a 95% positive statement of their work causes them to second guess everything and start to get all emotional and depressive thinking they aren't good enough. this is probably the last thing I'll proofread for them

Second Life, no. SL's development is dead. The so called "SL2", maybe, if it ever gets made public access or sees enough people joining it/moving over from SL to not financially sink shortly after launch. There's already been a huge amount of backlash just from the fact that, for all the money some/many have put into SL (on them for spending it on digital items, but still, I kinda understand the grief caused by it all being gone, money down the drain for what), not a cent of it is usable in SL2, leaving them with having to spend just as much in SL2 if they want to use it (considering that SL2 is aiming to have a much higher standard of content quality and optimization, content creators would have to put in a lot more time and possibly even more professional tools, and as a result would charge higher prices for their content, so users may wind up having to spend much more for one avatar...)

I'm very, very skeptical about SL2, from both seeing the way everyone's reacting, to the financial/business management and technical aspects of how and why it might fail versus launching successfully. Unfortunately I just see too much evidence that it's not going to work, enough that I question whether or not even the stupidity of consumerism can save it like EA's Battlefront or CoD games manage to do. Second Life IS much more niche and stigmatized than Shooter games are....

Shiza....I may have very low self-opinion, but damn if I don't expect people to be honest with me, brutally if they need to. If something I'm doing is wrong, fucking tell me, don't leave me thinking it's fine. I can't learn to do it right if everyone tells me the wrong way is good just because they don't want me to feel bad, I've screwed up too many times growing up because idiots in RTCs decided having a mental issue meant I couldn't comprehend or deal with the concept of being wrong.

to make a long post short and to the point, most of the people in my day to day life i have to work and associate with are like 20 to 30 year old children. a few of them mature and likely to succeed but that's also because they come from some pretty iffy backgrounds and they know that if they want things to work out then they can't rely on others to help them get where they want to go.

I know which of those two groups my brother falls in. Would like to think I'm in the other.

It doesn't have to be bubble wrapped to be constructive. There's a vast difference between being blunt and being evasive. Why not give the kind of directions you just requested for yourself? Treat it like directing a scene.

Holy balls am I glad the scorching week is over, but damn if I'm sad to see it end. I had a good amount of RS7s, R8s, and Q7s to take care of. It was great.

Got everything ready for the watch party tonight, then a night out with people.

The same can apply to early access games like on Steam. Developers need the same kind of feedback. There is a difference between constructive criticism and trashing everything you don't like with no solutions.

Heading back home today. Kinda sad to be leaving the city, but it's given me a good idea as to where I may want to land in the upcoming months. Overall this trip was an amazing experience and I'm glad I was able to do it. ^.=.^

Nothing quite like a couple hours of cuddles in the morning (Well, evening for me).
Mo kept hitting the 'snooze' button, so I decided to play a little unfairly to get his ass out of bed and get ready for work.
It was easy to get him all worked up, then added a quick 'BJ' to finish him off. Worked like a charm!

I would have preferred to take a lot more time though, and now that he has gone to work, there is no one to take care of me......
    Bummer!

Put on a new pair of pants yesterday. Somebody had shoved a wrapper full of nature valley mix in the pocket and I hadn't tried them on. Thank God im not allergic to any of the nuts contained in there.
